Commercial Break: Some Advice for the Membership Bowing to Dave Pack and Gerald Flurry's Foolish Shepherding

“I would rather have questions that can't be answered than answers that can't be questioned.” ― Richard Feynman-Physicist

No question that Dr. Richard Feynman was a brilliant physicist. Also no question that he disrupted several lives with his sexual antics, including sleeping with wives of fellow faculty members. See HuffPost (among other sources):

"Richard Feynman's lothario lifestyle

"Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman was a well-known philanderer. Air stewardesses were a favourite, but he also slept with many of his colleagues' wives, a move that didn't make him popular with the rest of the Caltech physics department. He was largely unapologetic about his sexual proclivities, and insisted that visits to strip bars helped him concentrate on his work."

His lifestyle and foibles are well known. Nothing can diminish his brilliance in explaining the quantum world we live in. If a rock star or artist has a similar lifestyle, we give them passes beause that seems more or less expected. We get more critical with others but people are people. We certainly let politicians live that life and yet praise them to the heavens no matter depending on our leanings.

Dr. Richard Feynman , the GTA of the physics world!

A follower of HWA really wants to use Feynman's lifestyle, family relations, and relations with professional peers as a measure of his worth? Anon 9:16 is skating on some very thin ice...

In June 1945, the 27-year-old physicist Richard Feynman lost his wife, Arline Feynman, to tuberculosis. Only 25 years old, she was Richard’s high-school sweetheart. And yet she was much more. As Lawrence Krauss writes in 2012 biography on Feynman:

Richard and Arline were soul mates. They were not clones of each other, but symbiotic opposites – each completed the other. Arline admired Richard’s obvious scientific brilliance, and Richard clearly adored the fact that she loved and understood things he could barely appreciate at the time. But what they shared, most of all, was a love of life and a spirit of adventure.

During their years together, Richard and Arline exchanged frequent letters, many now collected in the volume, Perfectly Reasonable Deviations from the Beaten Track. But none is more poignant than the one written to Arline sixteen months after her death. Still despairing, still lost, Feynman wrote a cathartic letter that was sealed and never opened until his own death in 1988. Deeply touching, it reads as follows:

October 17, 1946

D’Arline,

I adore you, sweetheart.

I know how much you like to hear that — but I don’t only write it because you like it — I write it because it makes me warm all over inside to write it to you.

It is such a terribly long time since I last wrote to you — almost two years but I know you’ll excuse me because you understand how I am, stubborn and realistic; and I thought there was no sense to writing.

But now I know my darling wife that it is right to do what I have delayed in doing, and that I have done so much in the past. I want to tell you I love you. I want to love you. I always will love you.

I find it hard to understand in my mind what it means to love you after you are dead — but I still want to comfort and take care of you — and I want you to love me and care for me. I want to have problems to discuss with you — I want to do little projects with you. I never thought until just now that we can do that. What should we do. We started to learn to make clothes together — or learn Chinese — or getting a movie projector. Can’t I do something now? No. I am alone without you and you were the “idea-woman” and general instigator of all our wild adventures.

When you were sick you worried because you could not give me something that you wanted to and thought I needed. You needn’t have worried. Just as I told you then there was no real need because I loved you in so many ways so much. And now it is clearly even more true — you can give me nothing now yet I love you so that you stand in my way of loving anyone else — but I want you to stand there. You, dead, are so much better than anyone else alive.

I know you will assure me that I am foolish and that you want me to have full happiness and don’t want to be in my way. I’ll bet you are surprised that I don’t even have a girlfriend (except you, sweetheart) after two years. But you can’t help it, darling, nor can I — I don’t understand it, for I have met many girls and very nice ones and I don’t want to remain alone — but in two or three meetings they all seem ashes. You only are left to me. You are real.

My darling wife, I do adore you.

I love my wife. My wife is dead.

Rich.

PS Please excuse my not mailing this — but I don’t know your new address.

This is like complaining about Aron Ra's hair before considering any of his ideas or the wisdom he has accumulated!

9:16 would do well to research Jack Parsons, and the early scientists associated with Jet Propulsion Laboratory. They make Richard Feynman look like a saint!

Apparently, if you keep the sabbath and holy days, abstain from unclean meats, pay your tithes and dress and groom "properly", it's OK if you spew all manner of lying false prophecies in the name of Jesus Christ. But, break a few commandments, and fail to maintain the approved personal appearance, and your whole life and every bit of wisdom you ever shared are all worthy of cancellation! We also learned in Armstrongism to give Beethoven and all the classical dudes a pass for doing the same stuff that was used to invalidate all the rock musicians.

Is God the author of double standards? Why how quaint and provincial!

Jack Parsons and at least one CCOG evangelist have something in common.

We can add Bob Thiel to this mix now since he has active participants in Africa using witch doctors and casting spells.

The book "When Prophecy Fails" predicts that some PCG and RCG members will become even more radical when their failed prophecies can no longer be denied.

Many of those with the highest levels of belief, commitment and social support became more committed to their beliefs, began to court publicity in a way they had not before, and developed various rationalizations ...

How can someone with hair like that have wisdom?

What qualifies Dennis to decide who can really explain the quantum world? Dennis is a fool who just follows the zeitgeist because he really does not understand anything about physics.

Dennis,

This is your reward for posting a brilliant quote - from the judgmental Pharisees of 2023. All of them would benefit from putting this quote into practice in their own lives. This kind of TRUTH and wisdom knows no boundaries. Everyone (Atheists, Agnostics, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians) would benefit from putting this principle into practice. We should all be asking questions, and we should all be ready to give an account of our own views. Bottom line, if you cannot explain/defend your views, you may want to rethink them! By the way, David was a liar, murderer and adulterer, but he wrote some pretty inspirational stuff! Just saying :)

Way to go big guy! You really exposed Dennis there, didn't you? Considering that you know nothing about physics exposes what a hypocrite you are. Go back to worshipping at HWA's altar where all knowledge came from.

During the 1960s and 1970s when the left wing, the moral apostates of that time period were the underdog, their writings and speech was saturated with be open minded, you're so narrow minded, listen to others point of view, etc. Now that the left is dominant, we have cancel culture, and those who disagree with them have been called terrorists.
Dennis is following their play book with his "question everything" proclamation. Likewise if his apostate beliefs were the norm, he would be imposing cancel culture as well.

If Dr Richard Feynman adored his wife as he claimed, he would have kept himself sexually pure. Sex bonds couples together, and the more people sleep around, the more the sticking power of sex diminishes. Much like sticky tape that's used over and over. So the man is a hypocrite.

Regarding Aron Ra's hair, it's basic psychology that one's appearance impacts one's credibility and respect. It's hardwired into the human brain. If people ignore this, they need to be prepared for the consequences.

There was some clever in the question and answer message. Then you people began arguing about the messenger. IT'S the message folks not Armstrong or any messenger.

Prove all things!!

"It's the message and not Armstrong or any messenger."

Why? Just because you say so? Christ condemned both the message and the hypocrisy of the Pharisees. Such people are called vipers and wolves in the bible.

This whole site is about exposing and rubishing the fake messengers, I mentioned that the message at the top of this post was somewhat clever. And you all attacked the messenger. You all ignored the message, I think that may be a the problem with you COG people all along.

Yes, prove all things. Mt 23----. Jesus condemns the scribes and Pharisees but says consider the message. Obviously Pack and Flurry and the many others are the scribes and Pharisees.
