Another day, and more things LCG members can't get right.
Doug Winnail continues to expect LCG members to continue to look backwards instead of forwards. What can we expect when the leadership of the LCG lives in the past. Its emphasis is always looking backwards instead of forwards into reality of rest in Christ. The New Covenant emphasizes how its followers are no longer of this world and have been released from it. Legalists and backwards looking people can't grasp that point. Even today in the COG it continues to look back to the glory days of the church. None of them can shut up about it. Those leeks and onions still look so good.
Sobering Signs of the Times: The Bible contains numerous warnings to help alert Christians avoid terrible trials that are coming at the end of the age. In Genesis 18 and 19, God sent two angels to warn Lot and his family that Sodom and Gomorrah would be destroyed because of their wicked and perverted ways—including homosexuality (Ezekiel 16:48–50). These citizens, including Lot and his family, had forgotten that God destroyed nearly the entire human race only 400 years before (Genesis 6–7). However, Lot’s family enjoyed the abundance of the region and were reluctant to leave (Genesis 13:10–13). Lot’s wife lost her life because she looked back longingly instead of following God’s instruction to leave this sinful region. As we see the world moving down the same dangerous path, we need to remember these examples are recorded for our admonition today (1 Corinthians 10:1–13) and come out of this world and its evil and perverted ways (2 Corinthians 6:17–18). We cannot afford to ignore these sobering warnings.
Have a profitable Sabbath,

Is Doug insinuating that if you fall away from LCG, you might end up becoming a homosexual?
The question seems pretty relevant to HQ ministers and most of the council of elders.

But Doug, aren't your followers already alert? Awake? Aware? How much more time is needed before those Christians, or professing Christians, are alert enough to avoid terrible trials?
Doug, you will never make them alert enough by writing, blaming/judging, them as being no alert enough.
Tribulations will come. Nobody is immune, said the Apostle Paul:
Romans 8:22 "For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
:23 And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body."
Christ did say: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation..." John 16:33
Doug, there is no way of getting around it. It is Satan who fosters death and fear (Hebrews 2:14-15); you too foster fear to others.
But Doug have you ever explained to your followers that sin dwells within each one of them, including yourself?
Romans 7:17 "Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me."
Doug, how do you think that sin is taken care of, as you continue to emphasize law over grace?
:20 "Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me."
Paul emphasized that problem for Christians, whether alert or not. It applies to all and again including you, Doug.
And Doug if that weren't enough, how about that evil that is present with you?
:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Doug, did the Apostle Paul lie to us? You put a huge burden on others, but you share similar problems, tribulations, in your life!
Doug, Christians, whether alert or not, are all going to suffer (yes, join the world b/c you aren't immune), but why? We're learning to hate evil.
2Th 1:5 "[Which is] a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:"
:11 "Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power:"
When will Doug, and his "beaten" followers, be relieved of sin, no longer have evil present with them, and eventually be counted worthy of the kingdom of God?
Time will tell...
John
