What is the point of the millennium when you have this kind of teaching? Why would they be teaching the world about the Old Testament when the old ways are done away with and the world is restored to wholeness? Isn't the focus on Christ at this point?
Is the Old Testament Obsolete? Many professing Christians have been told that the Old Testament is only for the Jews and Christians now have the New Testament. However, Jesus taught that we should live “by every word of God” (Luke 4:4), and the Apostle Paul wrote, “AllScripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). Paul even told New Testament Christians in Corinth that Old Testament examples “were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come” (1 Corinthians 10:1–11). In other words, the Old Testament is also for us today! We need to prepare ourselves so that we can explain these inspired Scriptures to the world in the coming Millennial reign of Christ.
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail

Is it just me, or is it that the longer these splinter groups exist, the crazier they get?
Yep, that's them, they haven't changed one bit.
Yep, "3rd yr" is 3rd tithe! "Times" means seasons! Seven, not three, feast offerings!
The old ‘many professing Christian’s’ gets me every time.
In other words it’s our way/word or the highway for the ‘others’ or those ‘professing’ lol.
Yeah we are the REAL CHRISTIANS and others simply think they are.
To be honest it makes me want to throw up and vomit.
Arrogant b*st*rds.
Doug is being disingenuous. He only teaches the parts of the Old Testament that he finds convenient. If he truly valued and taught the Old Testament, his Christianity would look a lot different from what LCG teaches and practices.
If Doug isn't professing Christianity, just what faith is he professing?
And there are things that professing christians understand that they don't. They actually reject some spiritual aspects in the New Testament. They secretly desire to practice Judaism with their version of Christ posted on the outside of the package.
A freshman at a bible college learns the basic rules for interpreting Scripture. One key feature is to look at the context. Who is being spoken to. The Law of Moses was given to only one group, the Israelites. The Chinese and Bolivians were not involved in this agreement. The rich man was told to sell all that he had and to give it to the poor. He wasn't giving a commandment for the world. The ignorance of these church leaders is appalling which makes their horrible arrogance even more embarrassing. These poorly trained leaders who believe themselves to be the best qualified to teach, make Christianity look very bad. I'm embarrassed to say that I was once a member of the WCG, sat through first year Bible taught by Roderick Meredith and thought I was getting a good education. Fortunately, I was in the church for only four years.
This blog and others do exactly the same thing. Think nothing of calling Sabbath keepers Satanic, even label individuals to be influenced after the very devil himself. Targets even criticised for quoting scripture as 'satan did it'. Same old, same old.
"Stand over there in the corner for WE are HOLIER than thou."
You only need replace the excuse for the nastiness. "They don't believe in the Sabbath", for "they dont believe in the trinity". And hey ho there you go, any excuse to spread hate for others.
After you’re in one of these groups such as “Living” for a while, you begin to see what the problem is. Let’s take Mr. Winnail’s words about using the Old Testament and let’s take them to task on their own doctrine. Let’s take British Israel (Ephraim and Manasseh). Now this is a group that wants you to keep the sabbath, passover holy days and follow the many precepts in the old testament to be obedient to God
Let’s begin: They say they are Ephraim and Manasseh. So let’s go to the OT & what we find is that they are silent when Ephraim and Manasseh appear in the Old Testament scriptures in obeying God after Israel & Judah’s captivities. This is really the conclusion.
#1
1 Chronicles 9:1-3 But Judah was carried away captive to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness. And the first inhabitants who dwelt in their possessions in their cities were Israelites, priests, Levites, and the Nethinim. Now in Jerusalem the children of Judah dwelt, and some of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh:
#2 In the days of Hekekiah (earlier)
2 Chronicles 30:18-20 For a multitude of the people, many from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord provide atonement for everyone who prepares his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though he is not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.” And the Lord listened to Hezekiah and healed the people.
# 3 In the Days of Josiah (a little later)
2 Chronicles 34:9-10 When they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites who kept the doors had gathered from the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, from all the remnant of Israel, from all Judah and Benjamin, and which they had brought back to Jerusalem. Then they put it in the hand of the foremen who had the oversight of the house of the Lord; and they gave it to the workmen who worked in the house of the Lord, to repair and restore the house.
The problem is hypocrisy, and Christ warned about the leaven of the pharisees. See these Ephraim and Manasseh are obeying God and LCG and other splinter groups ignore their obedience, but want you to obey the God of the Old Testament. They (LCG) want you to focus on these two tribes being lost for thousands of years RATHER than teaching that they were present in the OT obeying God. All the while wanting you to obey God in a similar old testament manner, while forcing BI in their version of the gospel.
It’s like Anon: 3:26 correctly said, they “LCG teaches the parts of the Old Testament that he finds convenient.” And this is one prime example.
Tank
Scratch the surface of the ACOGs and one finds that they are morally basically left wing. They praise Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Trump etc, but they ignore the core of their platform of limited government, a market economy and personal responsibility. They only side with conservatives because their strong military stance means that it's safe for them to play church. But the church culture is basically left wing with ministers viewing their members lives as their rightless chattel that they have a right to micro manage. Who hears these ministers talking about America's bill of rights? Deafening silence, no?
If Doug Winnail of our Living Church of God here teaches that the Old Testament is a vital part of Christianity (and in this he is correct), then why does he himself throw away Deuteronomy 24:2-4?
"2If, after leaving his house, she goes and becomes another man’s wife, 3and the second man hates her, writes her a certificate of divorce, hands it to her, and sends her away from his house, or if he dies, 4then the husband who divorced her first may not remarry her after she has been defiled, for that is an abomination to the LORD. You must not bring sin upon the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance."
I asked this of several people here in LCG but they suddenly shut their traps and become uncomfortable. This is what Doug did. So what do our LCG ministers say about it?
It's all about those tithes and offerings to stay in that structure of the Old Covenant.
Doug's hatred of God's Law is only the tip of the iceberg. Gerald Weston has allowed Winnail to continue as an evangelist and as the director of LCG's ministers. This makes Weston fully complicit in Doug's brazen rebellion against God's Law. It's enough to make me wonder whether Mrs. Winnail has some kind of blackmail in place against top LCG leaders.

This blog and others do exactly the same thing. Think nothing of calling Sabbath keepers Satanic,
I suspect this comment is directed to those teachers who make sabbath keeping part of a requirement for salvation, rather than the believer as such.
In other words, the Old Testament is also for us today! We need to prepare ourselves so that we can explain these inspired Scriptures
Armstrong's attempts to explain the OT ended up with a lot of confusion, and one is not confident that the offshoots will achieve any better understanding so as to explain in the world tomorrow.

Your comment, ‘Think nothing of calling Sabbath keepers Satanic’ and ‘They don’t believe in the Sabbath’.
Can you point out precisely and clearly where this blog stated the above please. Time and date please.
That would give you a little credibility.
Jerry Weston and a number of his LCG cronies are really more upset about interracial relationships than they are about fornication and adultery. So what does the OT say about that Douglas? When we would ask him to sho us in God's Word about interracial marriage, well he just becomes upset and testy, and then a week or so later he'll shoot off his mouth behind the pulpet at one or more of us in the congregations. Immaturity on his part. No wonder his father didn't really like him. There are those in Big Jerry's administration who think this forbidding interracial marriage stuff is a pile of nonsense. yet for who knows what reason they do not speak up to him and some of the others. I don't know how many times we have asked him to clear things up and simply do a good Bible presentation on the subject. But he does not. And yet he lets alone very clearly known situations that are adultery and fornication in the supposed speartip of the work of God. the people are quite open about what they are doing because they know they can get away with it, and so its no big deal any more in the groups for those of us who see it firsthand. And the members who are doing these immoral things are to the point now where they actually justify their immorality. And Gerald Weston and his ministers knowingly turn a blind eye. And now they want us to take their stuff they write and what they say seriously? I think they have become professional ministers but not personal Christians. so how can new prospective members support such a church? Well either they do because of fear, or they just give up, tow the line and become listless and Laodicean in their approach. Doesn't the Good Book say that one sinner destroys much good? And what of the concept of sin in the camp? The spear tip of the work of God? ??? I had to laugh when we got an announcement that our LCG ministers had a meeting on how we can better spread the gospel and do "the work". Many churches in the Protestant world look for neato gimmicks, and our LCG looks for the magic bullet. Well for a start we should look at simply repenting and lifting up our Savior Jesus in how we live and what we preach by word and by deed. So does anyone on the LCG brass disagree here?
I know they claim to "love God's law", but really come on. Years ago, the LCG minister Rod Meredith formerly used to put homosexuality and interracial marriage in the same sentence. They would kind try and make it a sin. I guess they can start on the subject of the parents of Ephraim and Manasseh coming from an interracial marriage from Joseph and the Egyptian woman Asenath. It's sort of ironic, because that's who they say they descend from (Genesis 46:20). Kind of taboo, although I think United (UCG) did a study on it. Although I think most of them are in the old testament, but I don't think LCG ministers like that portion of Old Testament scriptures. That's them.
Oh no its not, its for you hypocrite.
Yes i will. The "blog masters" know exactly what theyve written.
Prove the blogmasters have called Sabbath keepers satanic...
Hypocrites, you know full well what your female blog masterette has written over the years.
Okay, that's a new accusation I have not had leveled at us before. I'll just let it sit here and age.
3:51, I believe that it is you who have been going through many of the long old threads looking for evidence to support the accusations you make about people calling sabbath keepers Satanic. That's why they have selectively reappeared amongst the most popular of the day on the right of the screen. I've been following you or whomever, reading those same threads and have not seen a single instance of anyone here calling sabbath keepers Satanic, or the ACOGs Satanic.
Apparently you are now presumptuous enough to throw the burden of proof on Gary, suggesting that he go to all the work of producing the proof for you. And by the way, wouldn't you be making better use of your time for your church trying to debunk genetics? That would be another futile activity, but at least you wouldn't be falsely accusint the good people in the Banned community!
Wouldn't it be hilarious if these guys who are against interracial relationships had a wild fetish about them, and were experiencing difficulty controlling themselves in the shower? Or, were worried that seeing these marriages would make their own wives a bit too curious? Why should people have to deprive themselves of happy marriages just for the saie of ministers with bizarre penchants?
Listen to George Carlins' comments on race and the use of terms such as African Americans, Whites, etc. Where are the lines to be drawn between "black and white"?
Isn't race a sociological concept that is defined in language and culture rather than objective or biological fact? Black and white? The only white people I know are albinos. Most "whites" are various shades of brown.
Extreme racisim of the kind not even seen in the Churches of God. You pervertedly reduce non white men and non white wonen yo nothing more than sex objects. Shame on you.
So that's how the LCG maintains its numbers. They have a secret clone factory.
The great wrongdoing in LCG is not only officials like Weston forbidding in interracial marriage and knowingly allowing fornication and adultery. It is that the ministers and elders and deacons who do not agree with what is going on do not speak up and ransom the people and insist on the truth, like Israel saved Jonathan from the foolishness of King Saul. so as such these ministers and LCG ordained are panty wastes and men who worship ministers. Also the verse 1timothy 4:3 comes to mind here about a type of forbidding in marriage.
The problem with LCG and most of their minister, it's not a problem with the Asians & White unions, or Hispanic & White unions. It's the blacks which are a problem for them when interracial marriage comes into play.
Imagine a 21 year old young man who is non white, he reads LCGs booklets, reads their magazine articles, watches their telecast programs on television. He reads nothing against interracial marriage, even reading and studying their Bible Study Course. Then you strike up the "courage" to start attending and become a member, then you meet someone that you like that just happens to be another race. Then the ministers come down against you pertaining to the matter and the wool is pulled over your head. You've come out of what they call "mainstream churchianity" to follow all these laws: sabbath, holy days, clean meats, tithing laws just like everybody else in their organization. And that's when you realize this religion is about race, and not conduct.
There's no ambassador college for the young people to meet up, there's all these splinter groups (say it was a decade or so ago), members are about an hour away, and then comes the cruelty. Meanwhile these boomer and other older members were able to participate in the "happy hunting ground" and perhaps grew up in a segregated era. On top of all that they can't explain the interracial marriages that occur in the old testament that they are baptized in. They are a joke.
Many, many "whites" are actually pinks. But for some reason they squirm when reminded of that.
2 Cor 3:13-18.
13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

MY COMMENT - I think the real reason why LCG mass murderer Terry Ratzmann did what he did was because he couldn’t find a wife in the very limited LCG eligible female membership. He kept hearing LCG sermons about family and marriage, everyone around him in his Milwaukee congregation was married, and he couldn’t find a mate. I’m sure there may have been other reasons such as Ramrod Meredith’s fire and brimstone as well that finally put him over the tipping point. But his inability to find a mate in a church that requires you to marry within the faith I think was the primary reason...and I can relate to that.
As I have mentioned here on Banned many times, I am an Ambassador College reject (thank you Lord). The next Sabbath after receiving my rejection letter, I was talking to a girl who had also received her letter from AC. She was accepted and excited. After I told her that I had been rejected, she said to me that she wanted to go to AC “because that’s where the best guys are” (Thank you, I needed that as if the periodic reminders that God calls “the weak of the world” wasn’t enough to help my low self-esteem at the time). I stayed in the Church for about 3 years after being rejected from AC having been accepted to the University of Maryland instead. The was no one in my local WCG area that I was interested in dating – even during the Church’s peak years. In fact, the only girl I ever did date in the Church was a different girl who was home during summer break from AC. Because I wasn’t supposed to date outside the Church, I didn’t start dating a girl (who became my girlfriend) until my senior year at Maryland as I was exciting the Church in 1976.
It took time to deprogram myself from all the bad inputs into my mind from R/WCG. I lost my girlfriend at Maryland after a year simply because “I was too weird” for dating those “in the world”. Then came a Master’s degree at a different University half way across the Country. And then came a career. One day years later, as I was flying home from a business trip in Texas right before Memorial Day, I realized I was almost 40 years old and had no one in my life to come home to from this trip. It was then that I realized I needed to try to start dating again. I had no girlfriends for almost 20 years during the prime of my life. Even today, I think about that period of my life from age 21 to 40 as a post-Armstrongism casualty.
The Bible says “Hope deferred makes the heart sad”. It also says “Rejoice in the wife of your youth”. I attended R/WCG when there were 150,000 members and couldn’t find a girlfriend “in the happy hunting ground” of our local R/WGCG congregation. In today’s splintered ACOGs, a single eligible person has extremely less opportunity to meet someone and marry in the faith as required by Armstrongism. LCG’s mass murder Terry Ratzman was the result of hope being deferred and not having a life mate. I feel sad for the 21 year old young man who is non-white who reads LCG booklets.
Richard
Amazing story Richard and thank you for your response and story. I wanted to add it's not just about interracially marrying ( not many people are seeking that), however it's about marrying period in splinterdom AND these ministers want you to get married to someone in the Armstrong church. I will give Armstrong this: as a relative of mine once told me, "you grow your church with young people." And that's what he did when he started those colleges. I too believe that the motivation of Terry Ratzman was the "single" reason. And Winnail and these other ministers can talk about the cares of this world, but it's harder today for a man. Student loans, the cost of housing, the job market shifting with AI or jobs being outsourced overseas. There is less opportunities and many of the boomer ministers simply didn't get it. I know they tried with those single events, but it was putting a bandage on a wound (no more college). But you take the good with the bad, I am glad I am free from that system.
The LCg does say it wants interracial couples who are already married to be happy. But every mixed couple in LCG knows and feels the ministry's disapproval. Our ministers have a hundred and one ways of letting mixed married couples know that they do not like interracial marriage. They can feel it. Weston and his bunch will rub the couples' faces in it. Like the Jews of the 1st century church in its early years gave Gentiles a hard time. And Weston's proxies who disagree with this teaching against interracial marriage tow the line but try like spiritual whimps to make lame weak apologies and say, well between you and I I don't agree with this, so I'm just following orders. When asked about such examples as Moses and the Ethiopian woman, Weston's response is that Moses could do what he wanted and God would back him up as His man, and so God's true ministers can do that as well and God backs them up. Isnt that putting the idolatrous cart before the devine horse? Weston's take on the
verses when God was mad at the Israelites and not Moses is a complete twisting and corruption of what happened. When God was angry with the Israelites it was not because they disagreed with his man Moses. It was when they tried to usurp his office and when they violated God's commands and Moses did not. When Moses himself made mistakes he did have to be held accountable by God. Besides, the LCG ministers are most clearly not in the seat of Moses in the first place.
I realized I was almost 40 years old and had no one in my life to come home to from this trip. It was then that I realized I needed to try to start dating again
Thankyou for the honest explanation , and I was left wondering if you did eventually meet someone? Best to you
They think they are in the seat of Moses or the apostles or even the prophets seats. Perhaps they are, or in the version of the pharisees. Whatever they say doesn't immediately come to pass like the men of God in the book. They want their members to put more emphasis on the Old Testament rather than the New. Putting new wine into old wineskins.
And they (LCG) don't want interracial couples to be happy, they despise them. They despised them back in worldwide, and that's where they come from. It's the same belief system.
No, 3:53, that was not racist at all! I believe we're all potentially sex objects. My comment was an attempt to analyze the thought processes of ministers who are influenced by British Israel racism, an embedded institution within the Armstrong philosophy.
Doug Winnail ended his pleading to "Living" members, who still are not living up to Doug's standards, by stating the following:
"...We need to prepare ourselves so that we can explain these inspired Scriptures to the world in the coming Millennial reign of Christ..."
******
What is Doug going to think/believe when his "another Jesus" does not "very soon" show up to reign on planet earth for 1,000 years with Doug and his helpers?
In other words, what if Jesus does not return to earth until all of His enemies are subdued, which will not occur until after the 1,000 years when Satan is released from a pit and again messes up the four corners of earth, causes deception, war, oppression and death (that last enemy!) continue?
What if the real reign of Jesus Christ on earth does not occur until a short/little time season, as a minimum, after Satan is loosed from that pit?
Will Doug respond with a "Wut?"
Time will tell...
John
Rev 20:6-7.......Jesus Christ reigns that 1000 years before Satan is loosed.
Dont believe the hype of the past. 'Happy hunting ground' ? They rushed out like headless chickens during RCG/WCG both in AC and mainly during Feast of Tabernacles seeking the perfect mate. They neither really knew the characters they married and paid a price with their lives.
Many of these WCG Baby boomer marriages are hell on earth if truth be told.

Anon, that is so true; however, did you notice that there is no mention of the word "Earth" in Rev 20:6-7?
And, you will not find any mention about reigning on Earth for a thousand years, unless you apply the "here a little there a little" theory; and one needs to watch out when taking / using scriptures out of context, because the following result may very well occur:
Isaiah 28:13 "But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken."
Wut?
IOW, one "...might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken."
And time will tell...

Richard a saying on rejection I always have kept in mind ever since I heard it goes, “Rejection is God’s protection.” And the various experiences I have gone through when being rejected by people or groups and later learning that it actually was a positive that I didn’t get involved with this person or group has made me appreciate this saying all the more.
.....that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: Rev 20:3 ....... And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Rev 20:8
This is correct. To summarize rather crudely, the closer you are in skin color to the person you want to marry, the more likely the hirelings will not get snippy about it.
Y’all’s answer will only be found in the Old Testament according to LCG. You can’t use the book of Revelation.
Tank 🤔
It would seems whether or not you have left the cult of the cogs, you certainly are entrenched deeply into another cult. No lessons learned apparently.

It appears to be a shame the way hirelings of the lcg treat their mixed couples, if what you say is still taking place.
Or course, the lcg hirelings, especially the ones who exited the former WCG, who left their ministerial credentials behind in Pasadena, and may not even be ministers in God's eyes, but time will tell.
How much did any of these former WCG hirelings care for the sheep they left behind in WCG, or care for sheep in their manmade formed organization? Might Jesus have the answer?
John 10:12 "But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep."
If God wasn't guiding, leading the lcg, then was He working elsewhere?
What kind of guides are Weston, Winnail...or those from other scattered groups...e.g. Pack, Weinland, Flurry, Coulter, Franks, etc.? How much do they really care about the flock, or is there a whole bunch of concern for self? These guys just can't seem to be a part of one team, because they can't even get along with one another. Where really is that caring for God's flock?
God is color-blind when it comes to mixed couples; they are all human beings, of the human family. God is not a racist; Satan and his angels are. God had no problem with Moses and the Ethiopian woman he married, but God took issue with Aaron and Miriam for their racism, their blaming/judging of their brother's actions and learned that God was only working with one.
Weston says/believes: "...Moses could do what he wanted ..."
That's not true. Moses had no choice in lots of things, like where the Israelites should travel during their 40 years in the wilderness. God inspired Moses as to what to do, and fulfilled God's will in doing so. When God allowed Moses to do what he wanted to do, he smacked a rock in lieu of speaking to it, but Moses was driven by another spirit to do that (I John 3:8; James 4:5).
God wouldn't back up the stupidity in Moses' life, and He wouldn't do it for His ministers today, or those "little helper" ministers.
Moses was already in the promised land, but God did not allow Moses to cross that Jordan River to go to the west side of the river.
Is lcg (insert name of any scattered xcog/hireling today) feeding any of God's sheep today? Or, might God's sheep be in the following condition?
"Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I [am] against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them." Ezek 34:10
Cease from feeding God's flock? That's the equivalent of saying: "You're fired," isn't it?
And by their fruits/works you know them, but Were the hirelings (e.g. Weston, Winnail) of the former WCG fired?
Time will tell...
John
Correct John, they don’t care for the sheep. They only care about feeding their own selves. They major in the minors, and they minor in the majors.
Analyzing others thought processes is a lesson in futility 2:56. Nothing more than an intelligent guessing game.
For scripture teaches God doesn't allow even Angels or Demons spirits to know humans mind thoughts.
