Love's Redeeming Work Is Done

If the video says it won't play, double click on it and it will open

One of the great triumphal hymns of Christendom
composed by Charles Wesley in 1739,
celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ
with triumphant language drawn from biblical themes.

Hebrews 12:2; Psalm 22:23; Psalm 148:3;

Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once, upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss, Alleluia!

Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save, Alleluia!

But the pains which He endured, Alleluia!
Our salvation hath procured, Alleluia!
Now above the sky He's king, Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing, Alleluia!

"It is finished" - John 19:30

I know a UCG congregation which played this during spring Holy Days this year.

This song should be in every COG hymnal. In fact, Perhaps the fear of "Christ over all" has prevented that.
