Living Church of God And It's Other Weekly Column Of Bad News

Those fun boys in Charlotte seem to constantly be working overtime to find something wrong in the world around them. Nothing ever pleases them or makes them happy.

An LCG source sent me this:

This is the weekly LCG missive you should be publishing instead of Doug Winnail’s comments.

Instead of the good news – this is the weekly column of bad news. If it is not bad – then they make it look bad. If people need help – they don’t send help.

Screenshots of this weeks news that irritates the Charlotte boys:

Like Bob Thiel, nothing irritates LCG leaders more than a peace deal happening with Israel and an Arab nation. They have to read prophetic craptology into it somehow and then see it as a sure sign of the end times. Instead of celebrating something amazing, they see the "end-time-of-the-age configuration happening.

Compare LCG's Debbie-downer episode above to UAE citizens celebrating what is happening:

Then, as the LCG source mentioned above, LCG moves onto starvation in Madagascar. Is it an article where LCG offers to give assistance and provide some food or humanitarian aid? Don't hold your breath for that! How dare they take some of their precious tithe money that will pay for their leaders to be kept in their abundant lives of luxury and give it to buy some much-needed food for someone hurting! Tithe money can't be wasted on things like that!

"If people need help – they don’t send help."

Oh, and lest we forget, another thing that will piss off Bob Thiel and the LCG boys:

Friday Night Smackdown: LCG Members Not Humble Enough To Work Together

It's Friday and time for the weekly smackdown of LCG members concerning things they are not doing right. LCG members are still letting contentions divide them because they are not "perfectly joined together" as one. They are not humble like the ministry of the LCG is. They are also not patient, are conceited and are easily entreated as they buck for positions in the church (something the Meredith and McNair boys never did, right?). LCG members are also filled with PRIDE! Down with PRIDE!

Winnail then quotes Galatians to back up his accusations but for some reason never writes anything about what the rest of the book is actually about. People who understand grace are the people who love one another. Perhaps it is time for Winnail to start preaching grace instead of condemnation.

The Importance of Working Together: Jesus referred to His disciples as His “friends” and encouraged them to “love one another” (John 15:12–17). The Apostle Paul called those who assisted him in his ministry “my fellow workers” (Romans 16:3). He referred to members of God’s Church as “God’s fellow workers” and “workers together [coworkers] with Him” (1 Corinthians 3:9; 2 Corinthians 6:1). These exciting opportunities carry a big responsibility of learning how to work together, and the Scriptures provide valuable guidelines. We are instructed to “be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” and not let contentions divide us (1 Corinthians 1:10–13). We are to be humble; live in harmony; be patient; avoid being haughty, conceited, or ambitious for a position; and be easily entreated (Romans 12:16–18; James 3:14–18). Proverbs 13:10 reminds us that pride is a major cause of contention, and Galatians teaches us that using God’s Spirit is a key to eliminating dissention and promoting peace, cooperation, and friendship (Galatians 5:16–26). How are you doing at learning to work together?

LCG Members With Hardened Hearts Are Going To Suffer Serious Consequences!

It's time for the regular Friday Night Smackdown of LCG members who just can never seem to do anything right. Now it seems that some have hardened their hearts by not being teachable and as a result will be suffering serious consequences at some point in the future! What a comforting message to receive on the Sabbath, a supposed time of rest and time of communion with God. The chances of becoming a god when the rest of the loyal LCG members do are now slim to none.

Are You Teachable? The Scriptures reveal that one of the important qualities of character that God is looking for in Christians and in future leaders in the Kingdom of God is teachability—the desire and willingness to listen and learn and be molded by God. Abraham was teachable and responsive to God’s instructions (Genesis 12:1–4). Moses was a very capable leader, yet he was also humble and teachable (Numbers 12:3). David’s attitude comes through in Psalm 119:33, when he writes, “Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes.” Solomon recognized his own human inadequacies when he asked God for wisdom and an “understanding heart” so he could learn to rule God’s people wisely (1 Kings 3:9). When Jesus said the meek and the poor in spirit will be blessed, He was referring to their teachability and their willingness to learn and grow (Matthew 5:3, 5). However, the Bible also warns that if we harden our hearts to instruction and correction, we will reap serious consequences (Proverbs 8:32–36; 28:14). We’ve been called to reign with Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God—and being teachable is one of the keys to attaining that reward.

Gerald Weston Is Not Happy About Dominant Women

Someone needs to keep those uppity women in their place!

Weston is still screeching the same mantra that Rod Meredith and other uber-conservative COG ministers preach. How dare women teach me. How dare they! How dare they have a voice.

Greetings from Charlotte,
In this week’s video update I mentioned that Mr. Stuart Wachowicz’ Viewpoint, “Do Schools Discriminate Against Boys?” surpassed 1.6 million views. While it is not “the Gospel,” it reflects the signs of the times as mentioned in Isaiah, “As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them” (Isaiah 3:12). We are seeing our developed Western nations more and more dominated by women and this is a reflection of a trend occurring over the last few decades in our schools. We are also pleased to mention that Mr. Michael DeSimone’s whiteboard “The One Sin That Cannot Be Forgiven” has now surpassed the one million mark. Messrs. DeSimone and Wakefield are scheduled to return Thursday afternoon from the National Religious Broadcasters conference that was held in Texas this week. Responses to the Semi-Annual offer of the “Make Sense of Your World” DVD continue to come in, with just short of 26,000 coming in by mail. This does not count those coming in by phone and over the Internet. The full moon this week is a reminder that the Feast of Tabernacles is only 12 weeks away!—Gerald Weston

LCG Friday Night Smack Down: Backsliding LCG Members Ignoring its "more sure word of prophecy"

It's Friday and time for the weekly smackdown for Living Church of God members who just can never seem to do anything right. Today, they are failing to recognize the "more sure word of prophecy" that LCG claims to have. Not only that, LCG is the Watchman! This is sure to set off that other false prophet who claims he is the Watchman and has the "more sure word of propehcy" due to the fact that LCG refused to listen to him and now are ignorant of real prophecy. Given the track record of self-appointed prophets in the COG and their long history of lying to the members, whenever anyone hears a COG claim to have a "more sure word of prophecy" it is a guarantee they do not. The church has had no accurate prophet in its midst in the 80 some years of the Armstrong COG movement.

Pay Attention to Prophecy: Jesus told His disciples to stay alert and watch for the fulfillment of specific prophecies that will mark the approaching end of this age (Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21). He also warned, in the parable of foolish virgins, that many will be caught napping and unprepared by the surge of events that will precede His return (Matthew 25:1–13). God has given His Church “a more sure word of prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV) so we can warn the nations of Israel and the world about the prophetic significance of world events. It is also an awesome responsibility to be commissioned as a watchman (Ezekiel 3 and 33). Satan has deceived the world and many in the Church to discount the importance of prophecy. We must never take prophecy lightly (1 Thessalonians 5:20). As we watch world events building to a prophetic crescendo, let’s make sure we continue to study Bible prophecy, build a closer relationship with God, and learn to live by every word of God (Matthew 4:4).

LCG: Friday Night Smackdown is back!

Well, it is close to LCG Sabbath and time for the weekly smackdown on things LCG members are constantly doing wrong. It seems some LCG members are not focused upon the "truth" that LCG claims to possess and instead are caught up in the "cares of this world." LCG members must constantly be building character in order to be admitted into the Kingdom of God. Members are encouraged to focus their time upon that which is "true, noble, just, and pure".

LCG members have posted here for years about watching leading ministers in Charlotte and elsewhere mistreating members. From Rod Meredith on down through his kids and other ministers; abuse, nepotism, and financial abuse have been rampant. LCG HQ needs to clean its own windows before constantly criticizing its members.

Staying Focused: Jesus admonished His disciples to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). However, the temptations and pressures of this world continue to pull us away from seeking God and building the character needed to be in His Kingdom. Jesus also warned that “the cares of this world” can choke the Truth and cause us to stumble and miss out on our calling (Matthew 13:22). This is why the Apostle Paul advised Christians to “walk circumspectly” (live purposefully) and make the most of the time and opportunities to grow “because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15–16). This is also why we need to check our focus periodically—what are we watching on TV? What we are reading? How much time do we spend on the Internet? Are we acting and treating others like a Christian? Are we using our time and talents to glorify God, or just doing our own thing? Let’s follow these biblical admonitions and focus our minds on what is true, noble, just, and pure (Philippians 4:8)—so we can be in the Kingdom of God.

Have a profitable Sabbath,

Doug Winnail Actually Has A Profitable Word For Once

We have been ragging on Doug Winnail's annual Friday night beat down of LCG members and things they have constantly been doing wrong. Perhaps LCG has have been paying attention to the comments by LCG members here because for the last three weeks Doug's Friday night message has been relatively positive.

  1. Be Prepared! We are living in increasingly uncertain times, with unstable economies, job insecurity, storms, floods, droughts, and sudden terrorist activities. Due to our modern dependence on technology, these dramatic events can cause serious disruptions in our daily lives—thus we need to plan ahead for unexpected emergencies. This is reflected in the Boy Scout motto: Be Prepared! Solomon offered the same advice when he wrote, “Ponder the path of your feet”—think about where you are going and how to get there (Proverbs 4:26). Solomon also observed, “A prudent man foresees evil [danger] and hides himself [takes refuge], but the simple [the naïve and unsuspecting] pass on and are punished [they have to face the consequences of not being prepared]” (Proverbs 22:3). God’s Church has long encouraged members to prepare for unexpected emergencies—keep a supply of bottled water, a stock of non-perishable food, extra vitamins, first aid supplies, extra batteries for flashlights, a battery-powered radio, a camp stove or heating device, etc.—things that may be needed if normal public services are disrupted. While God’s people will look to Him for their ultimate protection, we also need to do our part to be prepared—so we are not taken by surprise.

Gerald Weston on the Continuing Mind-Boggling Growth of the LCG

Remember the days when Herbert Armstrong and others gloated about the thousands of viewers they had to broadcasts and the thousands of live people who showed up for personal appearance campaigns and other speaking events the church-sponsored? It was literally in the thousands, and quite a few of those people ended up joining the church.

But this is 2021 and we have the Living Church of God bragging over the 17  people who show up. Of course, this was to hear Jonathan McNair. Jonathan McNair! Sigh.

Mr. Wallace Smith was in Indianapolis, Indiana, last Sabbath for a Tomorrow’s World Presentation. Twenty guests and 31 members attended in person. Mr. Jonathan McNair conducted a TWP in Crossville, Tennessee, for 17 guests and 17 members who attended in person. While we see continual loosening of COVID-19 restrictions here in the United States, it is not the same elsewhere. Mr. Rajan Moses reports that Malaysia has gone into complete lockdown from June 1 to June 14. Since these lockdowns are often extended, he requests prayers so that they can plan for the Feast. Also pray for Mr. Ephraim Abok, one of our Kenyan ministers, who is in hospital with pneumonia.—Gerald Weston

LCG Gains Mind-boggling New Number Of Attendees! The Mighty Work Marches Forward With Power!

After spending thousands of dollars in holding "campaigns" in different cities, with over 370 attending, the boys in Charlotte are pleased that they have 14 new attendees. They are encouraged about this "positive trend". It is amazing what Church of God leaders in 2021` think are "positive trends." They are grasping at straws.

After a hiatus for most of 2020, the first five months of 2021 saw a gradual ramping up of Tomorrow’s World Presentations by the Living Church of God. In “campaigns” in ten different cities, 373 subscribers have attended, in person or online. What is most encouraging, however, is that out of the six cities where we had in-person events—Williamsburg, Virginia; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Tauranga, New Zealand; Kansas City, Missouri; Greensboro, North Carolina; and, Knoxville, Tennessee—we now have a total of 14 new attendees. While the overall total is small, we are encouraged by this positive trend.

Gerald Weston: " Satan uses the Internet and social media to grease that hole"

Where would the Church of God be without its splinter group leaders? They say some of the darndest things!

Get Out of the Rabbit Hole

Scripture tells us that Jesus Christ is the Head of His Church (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22–23). And we are informed that “the church of the living God” is “the pillar and ground of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15). Are we that Church or not? Further, God has placed His ministry within the Church to keep us unified and on track “till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;  that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,  but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ” (Ephesians 4:13–15).

Why is it that COG groups always find themselves under attack all the time? Satan is always seeking to devour them and sadly most of them seem willing to let it happen since they don't stand with confidence in the one they claim to follow.

I am not writing these comments for those who may no longer be with us, but for loyal and faithful members of the Living Church of God. Dear brethren, some of us have lived a bit longer than others. Our Council of Elders is mostly made up of men who have been around for a while, both in this life and in the Church. We have seen many conspiracies come and go. We have seen individuals become distracted, going down a rabbit hole of seemingly consistent and credible carnal ideas that appeal to them—and, sadly, as they keep going, becoming more and more convinced that what they are reading is the truth.

Brethren, because we have men on the council who have been frozen in time over the last 60 years you need to trust us in making proper decisions in 2021! Our experience demands it! Unlike you brethren, we older leaders have never been distracted, tossed to and fro, or ever have gotten caught up in conspiracy theories. Trust us on that! We are above that!

Satan uses the Internet and social media to grease that hole—and it becomes nearly impossible to extricate someone from these powerful deceptions, once they are bought into. No matter how many wise men and women try to help them, deluded people become convinced they are right as they turn themselves into poster children for this proverb: “A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment.  A fool has no delight in understanding, but in expressing his own heart” (Proverbs 18:1–2). Stay on the Road

Someone had better get the butthurt cream for Bob Thiel! Ouch!

I have always loved how when church members wake up to the fact they have been abused or that they have been feed a bunch of doctrinal lies over the years, that they are now deluded. One thing COG leaders are good at is gaslighting their members! The members are always the dumb ones and the deluded ones, never the church leadership.

LCG Expecting East Coast Members To Drive To Church Two Days In A Row This Weekend, In Spite Of Crippling Gas Prices

As LCG gears up for Pentecost this weekend, HQ wants to make sure LCG members have both of their gas tanks full, their car, and their Holy Spirit tank.

LCG members may be struggling this week to keep their physical gas tanks full in order to drive to church this weekend and for the next few weeks. A wise church leader would have said due to the current gas shortage on the east coast we will only be holding services only on Pentecost instead of forcing you to spend money traveling to church two days in a row.

Better yet, Weston should have said, "we will be streaming services on Saturday and Pentecost in order to make your lives a little easier during this crisis."

The ransomware attack on the Colonial Pipeline here in the United States has shut off fuel supplies to Southern and Atlantic Coast states, causing more than a thousand gas stations to run out of fuel. North Carolina is the hardest hit, with about 70 percent of gas stations shut down. Panic buying in Florida, which is not dependent on the Colonial Pipeline system, has shut down 16 percent of their stations. This will affect in-person Sabbath and Pentecost attendance in some of the states hardest hit, but we are thankful for the infrastructure we have in the Church, due to the pandemic, to transmit services online. Of course, we all know that anything involving the Internet is vulnerable, and it is a good practice to have back-up available. As we see our world going from one disaster to another, let us remember God as our Creator this Sabbath, and the millennial rest the Sabbath foreshadows; and let us rejoice in the calling God has given to us as firstfruits of His harvest.—Gerald Weston

LCG members are also encouraged to send in offerings online, particularly if they can't drive to church.  It is always more important to have the money clinking in the till than worry about members struggling to make ends meet with food and bills while also having to deal with high gas prices and shortages. Offerings always trump food on the table. Besides, this way their hands don't have to touch the filthy lucre.

Pentecost Holy Day Offerings: U.S. Churches Only—Repeat Announcement
As we prepare for Pentecost, we want to let the brethren know how we will be handling the Holy Day offering. We encourage those who are able and want to donate online to make online Holy Day offerings. This greatly cuts down on the time and work required to process checks. Congregations holding in-person services on Pentecost will have an offertory message and collect an offering as we have normally done. If you attend in person and choose to donate online, simply write “online” on your offering envelope collected at services. For those who will not be able to attend services in person, we encourage making online donations, if possible, just as we did for the Days of Unleavened Bread.—Finance Department

LCG members must also never forget to keep their Holy Spirit tank topped off, even though the church generally depletes that account thanks to abusive ministers, draconian non-biblical rules, church government demands, and oppressive law-keeping. But, no matter what, have a profitable Pentecost!

Are You Filled with the Spirit? We read in the Scriptures inspiring accounts of numerous people who were “filled” with God’s Holy Spirit—John the Baptist, his mother Elizabeth, and his father Zacharias (Luke 1:15, 41, 67). On the day of Pentecost, the disciples were “all filled with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:4). Later, Peter and Paul are described as being “filled” with the Spirit (Acts 4:8; 9:17; 13:9). Paul admonished brethren, “do not be drunk with wine... but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). How do you become filled with the Spirit? If we repent and make a commitment at baptism and receive the laying on of hands, we are promised the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). God gives His Spirit to those who obey His commandments (Acts 5:32). However, that Spirit must be nourished daily by regular prayer and Bible study if we are to be “filled” with the Spirit (2 Corinthians 4:16). Paul told Timothy to “stir up” the Spirit, indicating there are things we can and must do to become “filled” with the Spirit of God (2 Timothy 1:6–7). Let’s make sure we are doing our part to nourish and exercise the fruits of God’s Spirit so we can be instruments in His hands.
Have a profitable Pentecost,
Douglas S. Winnail

LCG Wants Its Members To Strive To Be Truthful In All They Say And Do

Is the Living Church of God having problems right now with liars in their midst? The COG leadership wants all its members to learn to "speak the truth in love" just as the ministry has done for decades. Never has the church had a more loving and grace-filled leader than it had with Rod Meredith. Terry Ratzmann can confirm that.

If the LCG truly expects to "speak the truth in love" then why do they continue to ignore Christ, his salvation works, the mystery of grace, sanctification, and redemption instead of placing its faith in the law and church government?

The world doesn't need continuous sermons one after another berating them on things they have done wrong. What the world needs to see is a group of people filled with so much faith and love that they set such good examples and are so good at it that those around them are drawn to them and want to share in that journey. Sadly, the present state of the LCG does nothing but repel people.

The Value of Truth: Today, we hear a lot about “fake news” and various sources claim to provide us with the “real story” about events that are making news—yet many people are growing skeptical about what they hear from politicians and news commentators. This should surprise no one, because this is Satan’s world (2 Corinthians 4:4) and he is called in the Scriptures “a liar and the father of [lies]” (John 8:44). The Bible also foretells that the time will come when “truth is fallen in the street,” “everyone will deceive his neighbor... [and] they have taught their tongue to speak lies” (Isaiah 59:14; Jeremiah 9:5). The Bible also reveals there are serious consequences for lying (Jeremiah 9:7, 13–16) and that “all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire” (Revelation 21:8). The God of the Bible is “a God of Truth” who desires truth “in the inward parts” (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 51:6). This is why Christians are commanded to “come out of this world” (2 Corinthians 6:17–18) and follow the ninth commandment (Exodus 20:16). We must also gird ourselves with the truth and learn to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 6:14; 4:15) if we want to be in the Kingdom of God (Psalm 15:1–2). Let’s strive to be truthful in all we do and say.

It Was Another Staggering Week For LCG Prospective Members

Do you realize that more people are exposed to the gospel message
in just ONE episode of Veggie Tales than they hear listening to LCG ministers?

It has been another staggering week of amazing numbers of new prospects exposed to the Living Church of God. With the millions of dollars dumped into its outreach to preach the "gospel", the payoff does not seem too high.

Greensboro with a population of 301,094 people in 2021 provided LCG with 22 "guests" with 26 members signing on.

Knoxville, TN with a population of 756,000 people in 2021 provided LCG with 25 "guests" with only 8 members caring enough to sign on.

Greetings from Charlotte,
Mr. Richard Ames traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina, where he held a Tomorrow’s World Presentation for 22 guests (17 in person and 5 online) and 26 members. He is also scheduled to record a Tomorrow’s World telecast today (Thursday) on “The Greatest Friend of All,” advertising the What Is a True Christian? booklet. Follow-up TWPs were held in Missouri and in Atlanta. Dr. Winnail returned Tuesday evening after a trip to the Northeast United States where he spoke in Tannersville, Pennsylvania, and made a number of visits. Mr. Rod McNair conducted a TWP in Knoxville, Tennessee, with the help of Mr. James Meredith during the Q & A session. There were 25 in-person guests and eight online connections in addition to the members. So far this year we have had a cumulative total of 182 online guests and 144 in-person guests at our TWPs. These are not large numbers compared to past years, but a good start as we take steps to move forward coming out of a pandemic.—Gerald Weston

Doug Winnail: In LCG “mercy triumphs over judgment”

Today's Sabbath love bomb:

Importance of Mercy: One of the fundamental qualities that Christians need to develop to become like God and reign with Jesus Christ is mercy. Showing mercy involves patience, understanding, compassion, and unmerited pardon. The Scriptures reveal that God is full of mercy and compassion (Exodus 34:6–7) and that He requires us to develop these same qualities (Micah 6:8). Solomon states that those who show mercy, show honor to God (Proverbs 14:31). Jesus taught that the merciful will obtain mercy (Matthew 5:7) and that God values mercy over sacrifice (Matthew 9:13; Hosea 6:6). Jesus also taught that mercy is an important key for good human relationships, and that individuals who have received mercy, but do not show mercy to others, will face serious consequences (Matthew 18:21–35). In human relationships, we are sometimes quick to judge someone guilty by the law, yet, the Apostle James comments that “mercy triumphs over judgment” (James 2:13). As we strive to develop the mind of God, we must also come to understand the importance of showing mercy to everyone we deal with. In this way, we will be preparing to rule with Jesus Christ in His coming kingdom. Think about how you can show mercy to someone else today.

Have a profitable Sabbath,

Douglas S. Winnail

Imagine that, a COG talking about mercy. Who would have ever guessed, considering the actions of so many of the leaders? Who would have ever guessed that the church is a leader in "patience, understanding, and compassion"? Notice there is no mention of where that mercy comes from and the act involved in it or the person. There is a token mention of his name and an admission that the church is quick to judge by the law. The law always trumps.

LCG's Mind Boogling Number Of New Guests In Atlanta! Woo Hoo! Impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Living Church of God has published a few numbers about the mind-boggling number of subscribers they have attending their online Bible studies.

Before you look at the numbers below, remember that Atlanta is the 37th most populous city in the United States. The city serves as the cultural and economic center of the Atlanta metropolitan area, home to more than 6 million people and the ninth-largest metropolitan area in the nation.

6 million people are in the Atlanta metropolitan area. 6 million!

Now, look at the mind-boggling number of people checking out the most amazing ministry on the face of the earth today, after Bob Thiel, of course.

Also, note that LCG does not tell you how many of those "guests" were actually LCG members.

Atlanta, Georgia: Over the last couple of months, Mr. Dan Hall has conducted multiple online follow-up Bible studies after the original online TWP conducted for subscribers in the Atlanta area. Here are the encouraging numbers:
  • March 5: “The Signs of Christ’s Return” (Mr. J. McNair): 31 guests
  • March 6: “Where Is the Church Christ Built?” (Mr. D. Hall): 22 guests (15 new, 7 repeat)
  • March 12: “God’s Purpose for Mankind” (Mr. D. Hall): 13 guests (7 new, 6 repeat)
  • March 19: “Are the Ten Commandments Done Away?” (Mr. D. Hall): 16 guests (7 new, 9 repeat)
  • April 9: “Sabbath or Sunday: Which Is the Lord’s Day?” (Mr. D. Hall): 9 guests (all repeat)
  • April 16: “The Pathway to Hope: God’s Holy Days” (Mr. D. Hall): 14 guests (5 new, 9 repeat)

LCG: We are the Watchman, so stop focusing upon Jesus!

Dagnabbit Jesus! You came to save sinners and for some reason, people focus upon that instead of letting us scare the crap out of them with endless dreary news stories and false prophecies of doom and gloom.

The Role of a Watchman: Many churches today feel their mission is simply to tell the world that God loves them and that Jesus came to save sinners, which is an important but very incomplete message. Many churches also focus on having plenty of social activities to serve their members. However, Jesus told His disciples to be alert and watch for events that will mark the approaching end of the age and the return of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21). The events making news today—natural disasters, rumors of wars, spreading violence, global pandemics, moral corruption, and increasing evidence of the demise of the Israelite nations—are prophesied to appear at the same time we see the rise of a political power in Europe linked to the ancient Roman Empire and the emergence of adversarial powers in Asia and the Arab world. Just as God sent a series of prophets to warn the ancient nations of Israel and Judah that their ungodly ways would bring serious consequences, the Church of God has a similar role to function as a “watchman” to warn modern Israelite nations of the coming consequences of their sinful ways (Isaiah 58:1; Ezekiel 3:17; 33:2–7). Delivering this powerful warning message must also accompany the preaching of the Gospel of the coming Kingdom of God (Matthew 24:14). We need to stay focused on this God-given mission.
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail

Gerald Weston: "Do you feel as though you are no more than a number..."

Every week LCG members are subjected to a weekly love letter smackdown from Doug Winnal about something they are doing wrong. Those letters are always a wonderful way to start the Sabbath worrying about one more thing added to your list of things the church says you are incapable of doing right.

Never fear though, Gerald Weston wants you to know that you are NOT a number in their system, even though you are, and that they love pray for you, that you wake up and do what is expected of you!

We sincerely hope you do not feel that you are simply a number to those of us here in this Work. We cannot know all of you personally, but we care for you, pray for you, and ask God to mold and shape you to fit into His Kingdom as it pleases Him. Your support of this Work, whether financially, in prayer, or in both, shows that you have a sense of purpose in life, that you see our world is going in a wrong direction, and that there is a better way that is coming.

There is always a subtle dig at members that they aren't doing it all right and need their god to tell them how to do it, or better yet, submit to church government and DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD and stop bellyaching, whining, and criticizing.

Besides that, Satan is on his throne and seeking to devour LCG members when they act like whiney little 7th graders.

He is still on that throne until Jesus returns to cast him out. In the book of John, Jesus three times referred to this spirit being, known as the Devil or Satan, as “the ruler of this world” (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11). Paul explained why we see our world going in such a wrong direction. “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us . . . might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:1-4, 7).

When LCG members stop whining and criticizing and realize that they are the weak and ordinary of the world then they will have a chance to be in that kingdom where the god of Weston and Meredith will reign supreme.

There is so much in the Bible that is indisputable, but few are willing to believe what it says. I hope you appreciate the fact that God knows you personally and that He is working with you in a very special way. Your mind is being opened to the greatest truths the world could ever know. We understand these things not because we are smarter or more righteous than others, but because God has called us, the weak or ordinary of the world (John 6:44; 1 Corinthians 1:26-29). May none of us forget nor take this for granted.

Doug Winnail equates his miserysters to Moses and Jesus, and if you don't like it then you are enmity toward God.

Here we go again, its the regular Friday love letter smackdown of Living Church of God members who just can NEVER do anything right.

How DARE members ever question the ministry of the church or ever share different opinions!

To do so is playing right into the hands of Satan!

The ministers in LCG are equal to Moses and Jesus and you CANNOT question them or offer an opinion!

To offer a holy LCG minister your opinion immediately tells him that you do NOT have the mind of Christ, like he does.

Can Gerald Weston and the LCG ministry be this pathetic?

Our Opinions or Christ’s Mind:

How many times have you made or heard comments like, “Here’s how I see it,” or “Here’s what I think,” or “Here’s the way it should have been handled.” All too often, these comments are directed at people in leadership positions—even in the Church. Moses was criticized by men who held different opinions (Numbers 16), and Peter differed with Jesus over an issue and even rebuked Christ (Matthew 16:21–23). In both cases, the people expressing critical opinions did not recognize the real source of their negative and divisive thoughts and actions. Before we share our “different” opinions, we need to remember God’s warning, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways” (Isaiah 55:8). As Christians, our focus should not be on going around spreading our own ideas, but on developing a godly perspective that reflects the mind of Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:5). Jesus told His disciples, “Follow Me” (Matthew 4:19) as He sought to think and walk in harmony with His Father. We also need to remember the Scriptural admonition, “the carnal mind is enmity against God” and His ways—including His government (Romans 8:7). Long ago, Solomon wrote, “A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back” (Proverbs 29:11). It is always good to ask ourselves, “Are we promoting our own opinions and ideas, or are we developing the mind of Christ?”

Have a profitable Sabbath,

Is It Just The Weather Or A Sign Of The End Times? LCG Has The Answer!

Australia Reeling from More Disasters: “In just over a year, the Clarence Valley and Kempsey have experienced drought, floods, bushfires and now another flood. Many other communities on Australia’s east coast are also dealing with their third or fourth significant natural disaster since 2019” (The Guardian, March 23, 2021). Thousands have been evacuated, bridges have been washed out, 200 schools have closed, and homes have floated away (BBC, March 22, 2021). Millions of spiders have invaded neighborhoods near Sidney in an attempt to escape the rising flood waters, and snakes are seeking refuge in trees (The Guardian, March 22, 2021). In Australia, many of those spiders and snakes are deadly poisonous!

At the same time, unusually heavy summer rains spawned a massive eruption of mice (Deutsche Welle, March 19, 2021). One farmer observed, “At night... the ground is just moving with thousands and thousands of mice just running around,” and many farmers are concerned the plague of mice will destroy this year’s crops.

The Bible clearly states that one of the consequences of disobedience to God’s commandments would be that disaster “will come upon disaster” (Ezekiel 7:26), including troublesome plagues of wild animals—especially in the Israelite-descended nations, such as Australia (Leviticus 26:21–22; Revelation 6:8). While these disasters in Australia are not the prophesied end-time plagues themselves, they demonstrate one way in which such plagues may come about. To learn more about what is happening now and what is yet to come, watch our enlightening telecast “2021 in Bible Prophecy.”—Scott Winnail, Chris Sookdeo, and Francine Prater

Yes brethren, let us scare you with doom and gloom, but be assured that these are NOT end-time incidences happening. We know it's just weather and stuff like this has been happening for centuries on a regular pattern, but we like to keep you whipped into a frenzy fearing for the end times, that way you will give us more money for the final push when we say it is time.

Be sure to watch their "enlightening" telecast for direct revelations from God on what is happening! Woooo!
