BREAKING: LCG Finally Steps Up To The Plate And Cancels Conference

Word has come in that LCG has canceled its ministerial conference amid bad publicity and employee concerns.  With churches, schools, businesses temporarily shutting down and State Governments banning meetings of 250 or more people, it took LCG bickering at the top to make a decision.

Further information will be posted as soon as LCG releases it press release.

I don't think you realize how much this blog and the fact that LCG members were commenting here ticked off HQ. With members and employees finding out that the church was not planning on canceling the conference people became upset and started voicing their concern. Certain people at HQ were not happy with the discussions here. PLEASE never stop what you are doing! It does have an impact.

If you are in an ACOG, you really can't trust the leaders to be watching out for your best interests. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but there comes a time when you just have to say "Fuck em!" and do what you need to do to take care of yourself and your family. The only way any of us are any good to God or anyone else is if we remain strong. We're able to take care of others only from our abundance and strengths!

After 90 years of orgasmic announcements of every hardship that has happened to humankind in the world, could it be that what HWA and his AC alumni hoped for is actually what exposes the cult for what it really is; exposing what has been behind the curtain all along. Headline: Corona Kills Cult. Was it God or the Devil?

As an LCG member, it is pretty sad that I have to turn to this blog to find our news about my own church. Transparency is something that headquarters knows nothing about.

On a added note, it has been 15 years this week that LCG's Terry Ratzmann proved that going to church can be deadly.

Lol. Weston will take care of his hirelings. Will he take care of the members by practicing biblical quarantine and cancelling services for a bit? Not likely unless there is enough of an outcry. Nothing to do with caring for them. It’s all about appearances.

Mason said...

This is absolutely true. I know from personal experience that the cogs will not tell you that their are registered sex offenders in attendance - even child sex predators.
But I also think the Corona virus is being exaggerated. About 4800 have died from from this world wide - over 600000 die from the flu annually. It basically amounts to another version of the flu.

The Chinese would not be locking down their cities if it's only another version of the flu. Read up on the Spanish flu. It mutated, creating three waves that killed more people than WW1.

Mason said...

Hopefully that won't be the case. But I don't trust the Chinese. I mean, it came from a lab over there, and it could just be population control, and none of us know exactly what's going on. So far it is fatal to the same population that the flu affects.

Biblical quarantine: those who were sick were to stay apart from rest of the group.... nothing about the group dispersing / not gathering because someone who was sick might be in their midst

Let me repeat it in a way you will understand: Will he take care of the members by practicing biblical quarantine by being a dictator and demanding those sick stay home and also as an added measure cancelling services for a bit so as not to risk the health of the well? Also nice diversion away from my point of how he cares for the hirelings but not the brethren.
Thanks for talking down to me though it felt like I was listening to an LCG sermon.

You would think as paranoid as their legal department is, they'd be on top of this with a can of Lysol. Do they not understand the potential legal ramifications of not canceling services and protecting their older (and greater majority) membership? A few deaths + a lawsuit = you're screwed. It amazes me how for years they've preached love, unity, and teamwork...but when it's time to practice those things and show outgoing love and concern for the sheep, they fail to do so. Charlotte HQ has canceled their services for fear of contracting this virus but the smaller churches are expected to assemble....do as I say, not as I do. What love. What a shame.

We're still very early into discovery processes regarding Covid 19. It is entirely possible that its significance is not being exaggerated, but actually being downplayed so that there will not be world panic. Even so, look at how people are reacting. Try to find toilet paper. Watch the people coming out of stores with shopping carts full of bottled water. High profile people have been exposed to the virus, and some have symptoms. These people have access to testing through channels not open to most of us.

The prudent course of action is to take the situation seriously, and take precautions. If it isn't the real thing, then it should serve as an object lesson in preparedness. How many of us do keep extra supplies around in case of emergency? How many even have the basics like the Lysol mentioned above, or a couple thosand dollars stashed away at home in case access to banking resources are disrupted? Gold? Defensive weapons for home protection? There have been extreme circumstances in the past, and there could be in the future. In a small coin collection I inherited are some World War II ration tokens. In my own lifetime, we endured gasoline rationing. Some entire geographic areas have been under virtual martial law in the past due to riots. We accepted many restrictions for the greater public good in the aftermath of 9/11.

Isn't it ironic that the ACOGs had to be chided for treating this outbreak as if it were just a competing form of apocalyptic bullshit, and therefore of no danger to themselves and their members? Isn't it also ironic that some ex-members would treat it as if it were just an example of more bogus manipulation by authority figures as was 1975 or 3-5 years?

I don't disagree with you that we should be prepared in case of emergencies. It isn't impossible for it to become a truly lethal pandemic.
However, I think its healthy that we question our own government - and especially healthy that we question communist China. Let's face it, if the US government performed syphilis testing on African Americans back in the day, it isn't a stretch to believe that China might desire to lower their numbers of elderly - especially in light of their brutally enforced one child policy which was only recently abolished.

I think it is good that LCG and the CoGs have canceled meetings. We agree on that. However, even though high profile people have been diagnosed, and the number of people who have been infected are probably under reported, those things just go to show that it really isn't as big or scary of a deal as the media is hyping it to be. Most people who contract it will feel shitty for a week or two, then be over it. At least in the US, the threat of dying from Covid19 is affecting the same demographics as those who are at risk of dying from the flu.
The issues with being able to purchase toilet paper and supplies goes back to the media hyping. Just as with impending storms, people like to go out and stock up on toilet paper, milk, and bread because they're afraid of the worst case scenario, even though it almost never is that bad. The only reason that people are reacting with the level of panic that they are reacting with (again, not talking about prudently postponing gatherings) is because it's new and the media is scaremongering it for what very well could be political reasons.

Thank you for restating to make clear you did not intend to equate biblical quarantine with cancelling group events. My comment wasn't intended to talk down to you or divert attention from your point about Weston's motives, and I'm sorry it came across that way to you.

I have become weary though, of various churches / groups / that continue to invoke biblical quarantine to justify decisions (called an order from home office in official church notification) that go way beyond that principle. I agree with Mason... nothing wrong with prudently postponing large gatherings and being reasonably prepared for emergencies, but prudent decisions and preparations are one thing while all this media hype and scaremongering that produce overreactions verging on panic are something else entirely.

Byker B, I agree with your post above about being prepared. As you said we are still learning about this virus. Personally I think we will find a vaccine for it. But I am only hoping, we don’t know so I am taking it seriously. I do have cash on hand. Also have several hundred dollars in silver coins. I also have two 357 mags loaded in my hunting cabinet plus a 9mm in my night stand. I pray I will never use any of them to defend myself or family. I am fortunate, I live in a rural area. Right now I have quail in my backyard. I consider them beautiful wild creatures, however if I can’t buy food at the grocery store..... Also there are deer all around me... I feel things will return to what we call normal but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared. Good post Byker Bob.

Easily offended, Anonymous 11:36? I occasionally punctuate my posts with explicit language, but never blasphemous. Keeps things interesting, and lets me know that people are paying attention. Besides, Christians invented fucking. In the Massachusetts Bay Colony back in the 1600s, people were occasionally caught fornicating or committing adultery. They were arrested, and displayed in the town square locked into the stocks and pillory with a sign above their heads reading "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge". Later, the pilgrims just started abbreviating "F.U.C.K.", and still later, they dropped the periods.

Of course, if you are referring to "bullshit", that is a word which has long been in the vernacular lexicon, heard every day. It's a Banned-approved word, as occasionally Gary, Dennis, and the other headliners here use it in the articles submitted for discussion.

We used to have a dude around the forums, who when things got a little too prudish, would post a picture of his garden of penis peppers. The red ones he grew appeared circumcised. But, there are also green ones which appear to have their foreskin.

Anon March 14 3:10 Still think this is all hype? As of today, the number of cases in the U.S. outpaced China's. People overreact because they're lizard brained. I stand by the statements: Gerry doesn't care for his sheep. He dropped the ball because he is bamboozled by his highly politicized right-wing sources.
