Well, I have done it again. I have somehow gone and got our highly favored Great Bwana to Africa all hot and bothered. The daggers of self-righteous indignation are flashing from that little brick storefront in Grover Beach right now.
I find it fascinating how the little guy which believes he is God's most important Church of God leader in the history of the church, so important that he was part of the divine plan of the ages crafted before creation itself to rise up in these perilous end times to lead the one true remnant church which preaches the pure undiluted truth of God, can be so easily pissed off. Yet, here we are. Again.
This time I am a tool of Satan being used to deliberately keep people out of the Kingdom of God. But, it's not just me, it is many of you rebellious Laodiceans that DARE to mock him and make fun of his self-created myths he pawns off as truths. We are such a rebellious lot that we are "the accusers of the brethren".
Some of Satan’s allies at Banned by HWA website continue to post lies about those of us in Continuing Church of God (CCOG) as well as other COGs.
That is consistent with Satan’s hope as he is called the “accuser of the brethren” which he does do day and night (Revelation 12:10), so it is no great surprise if his lying human assistants spread lies regularly.
Beto Bob believes that Satan is using us to keep people away from the one true church he believes he is running. His is the true Christian faith!
If you are not part of a COG (Church of God), Satan hopes you will dismiss the true Christian faith as a false cult–this is something he and his followers have done throughout history.
So sure of his self-appointment and self-ordination as a COG leader and prophet, he says that scripture itself tells how COG members and former members will denounce him:
Jesus, Himself, said that people who claimed to believe the Bible often denounced God’s prophets:
11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:11-12)
The problem right off the bat here is that Bob Thiel is NOT a prophet of God. That is abundantly clear to all here. We know he is no more prophet than Dave Pack or Gerald Flurry are. In fact, Beto Bob is EXACTLY like Pack and Flurry.

Yet repeatedly, Gary Leonard has borne false witness.
There is no point in me, Bob Thiel, apologizing for telling the truth.

Bwana Bob then has to start in on his greatest myth ever, the Gaylyn Bonjour blessings. Beto Bob sees these prayers by Bonjour as a sure sign from God that he needed to split off from LCG and form his own church. Bonjour never had any such intention in mind, but Beto says he did.
The truth is on December 15, 2011, LCG minister Gaylyn Bonjour, while laying hands on me, was moved by the Holy Spirit to pray that God would grant me a “double portion” of His Spirit, which Gaylyn Bonjour said was reminiscent of the passing of the mantle from Elijah to Elisha as recorded in 2 Kings 2:9-13. He has always publicly concurred with me that is what happened.
Beto Bob then says this:
Satan hopes that YOU will be lazy and not believe. Satan hopes YOU will not take the time to check out the truth on this. Satan does NOT want YOU to accept that God really has been providing and fulfilling dreams in the 21st century.
A better translation this should read:
Satan hopes that YOU will be lazy and not recognize that Bob Thiel is a liar and a false prophet. YOU will not take the time to check out the truth on this and instead swallow his lies. Satan does NOT want YOU to accept that God has no need of self-appointed little prophets like Bob blaspheming Christ and ignoring all that he accomplished.
Beto Bob then accuses those who read here of this:
Satan wants YOU to think that there are no serious differences between the legitimate COGs so not being part of CCOG is fine.
Satan wants YOU, like most Christians these days, to be Laodicean and not see if these things are so?
Why?
Because he knows Jesus said for unrepentant Laodicean Christians, “I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing” (Revelation 3:16-17).
Bob claims unrepentant Laodiceans who can't tell the difference between the COG groups and Bwana Bob's highly chosen group are deceived by Satan. Bob's problem lies in the fact that we can tell the difference. We have, Bob. We have! And, you have been left by the wayside. Irrelevant. Insignificant.
Beto then launches into his second favorite mythical fantasy, his dream, and the dreams of others.
The bulk of end time Christians do not truly believe that the New Testament shows that in the end of the last days God will provide dreams to His most faithful. God proceeded the start of the Philadelphia era with a dream to a woman and the start of the CCOG with a dream to a woman.
Satan does not want you to take inspired confirmed dreams seriously. He wants you opposed, or at best lukewarm, to that biblical idea. Satan wants you to have enough doubts about God and His promises so that you will be “a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” (James 1:8).
Beto continues:
Those who believe the false assertions at the Banned by HWA website are among those that love and practices lies.
Those who do so should repent.
Jesus taught:
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Bob must have done something to piss Gary off. The anti-Bob onslaught goes on and on. Crushing the peanut again and again.
Bob and company never bat an eye when they accuse other Christians of preaching a false Gospel, but you let anyone dare to point that accusation at them, and they go bananas! They love to quote all of those scriptures about accusers of the brethren and folks bearing false witness, but it NEVER crosses their minds that those passages might apply to them! They call us Satan's allies and threaten us with Gehenna fire, but they are the ones who need to take a closer look at the company they keep and be worried! They glory in the fact that they are NOT like other Christians - They glory in their "truth" and "righteousness," but they don't realize that they are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked! They would go to the ends of the earth to win a convert to their "truth" and make them twice the child of hell than they are in the process!
Well, as one meaty urologist once quipped, "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows!"
Still, Beto does need guidance from someone. All these little guys from the Armstrong movement think they can strike out on their own, and they are actually surprised when they don't attract the big followings or respect that they anticipated. Often, they would do so much better if there was someone in their circle whom they respected who simply counselled them as to how to get rid of their personal negatives, the things which put others off, and turn them away. I feel very strongly that if Bob and others simply listened to us, certain of our critiques would help refine them, and make them more followable. Unfortunately, the early example they had with HWA causes them to posture, to elevate themselves above criticism, and to become angry instead, which turns even more people off.
Anyone else happen to catch "The Loudest Voice" with Russell Crowe as Roger Ailes? I just finished binge watching it, and was totally blown away by how much Ailes reminded me of HWA! Russell Crowe really nailed the whole HWA thing without even having known him!

Bob has picked up one trick from Dave Pack. He falsely says that Banned posts lies about "those of us" in CCOG. When things go well, Bob gets the credit. When things go poorly, Bob shares blame with the brethren.
Bob doesn't say that everyone in CCOG is a true prophet. But when he is singled out individually for being demonstrably a false prophet, he lies to his congregation and says Banned is defaming "those of us in CCOG" and not just him.
It's sad to see Bob drifting deeper into his mental illness. He could be a powerful voice for truth and sanity if he were healed and could understand the mistakes he has made.

Hey, people, Thiel is one of the small guys and Meredith and Bonjour were some of the big guys. Haven't you been told enough about the dishonesty of the "big guys" in the church over the years? It's because of the big guys that the church has been torn apart and the small guys can't breathe.
The quote from Meredith at 7:57 above is the classical and typical ad hominem tactic that our ministers have used for so long whenever they can't find anything wise to say to a legitimate question or grievance.
Meredith was the one who betrayed the Scarboroughs when they really needed him to stand up for righteousness. But, nooooo, the bureacratic gravy train, HQ business, logo idolatry, member-shunning, guild-polishing, corporate image cover-ups and the like must go on with all the pretending, pretending and pretending, and the undoing of reality, just to live up to some false image that they can't ever be wrong except in the odd confessional sermon from time to time when the Spirit convicts them, thus taking serious matters lightly and light matters seriously, being too drunk or well fed to sense the difference between being tested or tempted)
First and foremost, Bob, thus is so old and tired and...expected. You have given this same stupid rant every year, just after your "year end wrap up, more books in more languages, more members than ever, blah blah blah". Sing a new tune sweetie. This one wore itself out 5 years ago. "It was 3,5,7,10 years ago this month, on the Roman calendar, that my wife, Joyce and I counted the cost and began the CCOG." Same turd sandwich, different year.

Maybe when you start to give genuine sermons, on ONE biblical topic, stop the stupid prophet b.s., stop proof texting and most importantly, mention the Name of Jesus 116 times more than your own (which is your current average ratio of Bob:Jesus), people will listen. Be thankful that his level of human intelligence does not allow his usage of artificial intelligence. In fact he has expressed fear for it. People have no idea of all the ways in which AI is being used today. That is what is emerging as the "real" Big Brother. A lot of discernment is going to be required by all of us in the very near future as this is harnessed. It's kind of like GMOs for the human psyche!

I completely understand and share your dislike of the ministurds, but Bob was no humble member just trying to mind his own business.
It's obvious that Bob doesn't take criticism well - he voiced his disapproval a number of times about the harsh treatment he said he received in a Spokesman's Club evaluation. One puts oneself in the public eye must be prepared to face a hostile audience.
As for critique from Banned, I'll always remember the words of Byker Bob - we're troubleshooters. Hidden in some comments are points that COGleaders should consider, and take corrective action before going into a haywire damage control.

In high school and college, there were certain courses which had "lab" sessions. These were mostly science-based courses such as biology, chemistry, and physics, and were where students obtained their practical hands on experience. The sessions were revealing, in that they demonstrated how one translated one's grasp of the subject into proficiency. Frogs were dissected, chemicals were blemded and precipitates measured, and wave theory was tested in pools of water or through the use of "Slinkies".
In Armstrongism, Spokesman's Club was the lab sessions. Participants were observed, groomed, and graded on their absorption of the brainwashing, and their leadership potential within the church. It's how the ministry got to know the men in the church, trust them, and ordain leaders such as deacons and local elders. Some members took to it naturally, and others floundered perpetually, because whatever was required would never be within their capabilities. Armstrongism in so many ways was taught as a "one size fits all" application, so even the flounders persisted. We were supposedly called to the church to become leaders, which meant that people who had zero leadership potential, zero personality, and negligible speaking ability persisted no matter what. In the vacuum that Armstrongism has become, something which was once unforseeable has happened. Even the Spokesman's Club washouts have tried their hands at splinter leadership. The number of followers or donors they attract is their report card. When you have someone who is constantly complaining that nobody listens to them, or accepts their leadership, guess what? That is the ultimate failing grade! That is giving yourself an F, or a zero! In the field of sales, there is a very poignant saying: "Your raise will become effective the moment you are." Modify it for growth, and that saying would seem to be adaptable to church leadership as well.
If HWA were somehow raised from the dead and shown the bits and pieces of his empire, the first thing which would assault his senses would be the proliferation of the proverbial square peg in a round hole, and the vacuous leadership this has caused. Yet some wonder why we mock, critique, and troubleshoot. Fascinating!
