Here We Go Again: 2025 Crackpot Prophecy Watch

Well, here we are in 2025, thirty-nine years after Herbert Armstrong's death, so it is fitting to start the year off with more failed prophecies to watch for this year. For thirty-nine years, COGland has been filed with hundreds of false prophets, yet they continue on undeterred.

The Church of God's current most special prophet to ever grace the Church of God has published his latest New Year's list for things to watch this coming year. Ever since 2012, he has published a list of idiotic things he predicted would happen. Failures all, but that never stops the Great Bwana from adding more to his yearly lists.

These are the things to watch for in 2025:

In Mark 13:37, Jesus tells His followers to watch world events that will precede His coming. In this sermon, Dr. Thiel goes over 25 items to watch in 2025 and points out events that were related to several of them in 2024:

1. Scoffing in the Last Days

2. Immorality Prophecies Being Fulfilled

3. Media, Internet, and Other Censorship

4. Weather Sorrows and Troubles Weather happens.

5. Earthquakes and Volcanoes

6. The White Horse of the Apocalypse

7. Strife and the Red Horse of War

8. Trade Issues

9. The Deal of Daniel 9:27

10. Knowledge Increasing

11. Debt

12. US Dollar Dominance will Decrease

13. CBDC and 666

14. Gold

15. Unrest, Terror, and the Dividing of the USA

16. Europe Will Work to Reorganize

17. Europe Will Have a Great Army and Many Ships

18. Steps Towards the Formation of the King of the South

19. The Time of the Gentiles will Lead to Armageddon

20. Jews Readying to Sacrifice

21. Inventions of evil things

22. Reelection of Donald Trump and His Adminstration

23. Totalitarian Steps

24. Preparation for the Short Work

25. Fulfillment of Matthew 24:14 and 28:19-20

Dr. Thiel goes over prophetic scriptures (in 2 Timothy, Habakkuk, Amos, Daniel, Matthew, Mark, Romans, Revelation, Isaiah, 2 Corinthians, Psalms), including those that must be fulfilled before the start of the Great Tribulation, as well as others that also need to be fulfilled before Jesus returns. When are some prophetic events expected and not expected to be fulfilled? Could we see events in 2025 in the Middle East involving Israel & Iran that would lead to the Great Tribulation starting in 3 1/2 years? Dr. Thiel goes over many biblical items and ties them in with world events that happened and are in the process of happening.

The one prophecy that will always remain constant in COGland is that the church is filled with self-appointed liars masquerading as men of God.

Make no mistake about it. Bwana Bob is a scoffer. It's just that Bob scoffs at different things than Dennis and Marc and others here at Banned. Things like truth, logic, science, humility, and decent video production values.

SO basically... nothing.

Too much, man! HWA croaked 39 years ago? So these guys second 19 year time cycle has just expired, and what have they done with their time? Obviously, no fresh thinking, except for taking some of few new factors and trends, and categorizing them so that they almost fit into the HWAcaca.

Funny Freudian slip! As I scanned Bob's wish list of prophetic horrors, I thought I saw "The White House of the Apocalypse", and thought to myself, "Ah! At least he gets the prophetic significance of Donald Trump!!" But alas, as I looked again and correctly read "Horse", I realized that it was going to be the same old same old. Yes, they love to tell the story of Herbie and his redefining of "love".

This is what happens when someone's ministry is dedicated to firing up once well intentioned, aspiring followers of God and turning them into Apocalypse enthusiasts! There is a shift of priorities, paradigms, (or both) away from Christian living principles, and towards something much more insidious! They've gone and turned God and Jesus into Freddy Krueger!

He should stick to his work as a naturalist! Perhaps he could develop something useful, like scoff syrup!

Looking at the wwcogs stellar record of failure and their inability to predict/foresee any event of significance, biblical or otherwise, one would think Booby boy would give up. But as the headline says Here We Go Again.

thiel forgot #26. HWA will arise on his death day of January 16th and start the work over with bob thiel! The question is, who's going to be the low many on the totem pole? thiel of the herbster?

The ACOGs definition to "watch" is almost exclusively directed at world events. Members are forbidden to watch church doctrines and church culture to see whether they are biblical. This includes watching their ministers to discern whether they have stepped outside their biblical roles. Their narrow definition of "watching" is self serving.

Well I agree wholeheartedly with the last line, as it rings very true:

The one prophecy that will always remain constant in COGland is that the church is filled with self appointed liars masquerading as men of God.

Although I'd change 'men' to 'people'.

Not true 7:38. Completely the opposite in certain groups. I recall in 90s being told to "Look at the lives of the men who preach and teach. Look at their real lives they live, not the life they pretend to live." Advice given along the lines of developing discernment.

In this day and age many Christians are really surviving modern Babylon in the N.T. version of 'The way of the Exile'. The advice from the old Testament prophet Jeremiah with the obvious teaching of Jesus for the latter days is worth more than the endless selfish babble of selfish vain men who do whatever they feel is right in their own eyes.

Time keeps marching on relentlessly. HWA has been dead now for 39 years, and even GTA, if he were alive would be 95 years old on Feb. 9th. 99% of the "second tier" ministry, like Meredith, McNair , Hoeh, Blackwell , are now dead as well, and even the third tier (those who entered the ministry between 1965 and 1975 are rapidly dying off and are all aged 75 or more)

The Radio/WCG had a sweet spot , of about 20 years from 1952 to 1972, where it grew at about a 40% annual clip. There was a unique blend of fear of the hydrogen bomb, Post WW2 social unrest, and the Armstrongs being able to use the new means of media , like radio/TV/ Free magazine etc, to exploit the era.

The reinvention of HWA into the "Ambassador for World Peace" after the "Great Disappointment of 1972" was a flop, and GTA became his own word enemy and never could duplicate his earlier success.

The Armstrong central planning model flopped. Like all centralized planning collectivism efforts, they lack the means for market driven change, allocate funds inefficiently or corruptly, and hold down innovators who can create breakthroughs in thought, mind mapping, and new direction. Hierarchy causes this, and results in the "Peter Principle" , where people rise to their level of incompetency , which is what we see today across all of the COG spectrum.

These things on his list are all pretty broad strokes. Kinda general stuff. So where's the need for being a prophet hhere or where's the evidence?
here?

Correct statement that HWA as " Ambassador for World Peace" was complete flop and total waste of tithes & donations. I wonder if he was ever drunk or hungover when meeting with Ferdinand Marcos or other leaders. I heard former associates including GTA state if you did not speak with him by 8 pm he was usually wasted. . I came from a protestant background with family members who had alcoholic issues. It really shocked me as child/ young adult that I had never seen a church organization that seemed to promote alcohol use in spite of the fact that close to 50% of people who drink regularly should probably stop. That being said, I have no problem with someone drinking who can manage it but my past experiences with family members abuse and seeing many worldwide members who abused it was just something I never witnessed any where else.

The Painful Truth has an article on 2025:

I very much doubt GTA stated that. He rarely spoke of Herbert, always his mother Loma.

Yes he did say that & he was not the only one. You can call me a liar and that is fine but what is true is true. He also told a female friend of mine that when HWA died he had cirrhosis of the liver. Did you not read Tangled Web and his guzzling the bottle of Harvey's Bristol Creme? This was not some one off event. On the 60 minutes expose back from the 70' s when Mike Wallace played the tape of HWA stating he didn't think the church would accept Stan Rader as leader he was not speaking in his normal tenor & had likely already been imbibing before answering the phone call.
