Franchise owners cannot deal with it when a member fails to be intimidated by this false line of rhetoric. It's the equivalent of defying a Mafia don, only the don can actually do something about it. The Armstrong franchisee goes through a different mental process, ultimately coming to the realization of his own impotence, and struggling to continue his own rulership.
