PCG: Passover Not Valid Unless You Keep NTBMO Too

Why is it that Armstrongism always has to have a list of things that a person must do in order to please God?  Each decade that the Church of God survives and more ministers start personality cults, that list grows and grows.

Now we have Dennis Leap who has laid down his law on the Night to be Much Observed; one of Armstrong's made up church observances.
For us to properly keep the Days of Unleavened Bread, it’s necessary that we come to properly understand and observe what the Bible calls the Night to Be Much Observed.
God commands that the Church keep the Passover ceremony at night (1 Corinthians 11:23). Mr Armstrong taught the Church that the Passover is the most solemn night of the entire Holy Day season. It is the night that God’s truly converted people convene to remember Jesus Christ’s death.
God also requires that His truly converted people keep another separate night immediately following the Passover. This second night is also of great importance to all of God’s people. Keeping the Passover alone is not enough! We must observe this second, different night, to properly keep the Days of Unleavened Bread!
A persons salvation is NOT at risk for not doing the NTOBMO or any of the other requirements that Armstrongists place significance upon.

Dennis Leap's other requirements are:
The Night to be Much Observed is actually the beginning of the first Holy Day. We should dress in our sabbath best for this occasion. Men should wear coats and ties and ladies should wear nice dresses. Our children should dress in clothing that they would normally wear to Sabbath services.
If your Night to be Much Observed gathering must take place at a restaurant, be sure it is in a private room, away from the public. Loud music, interruptions and people smoking will greatly detract from your evening.
Mr. Armstrong always set us the example of using nice dishes, tablecloths, and nice tableware for special occasions. This is the night to do this. Candles and fresh cut flowers will also help make this occasion more special. A wonderful atmosphere goes a long way in making an occasion such as this a very memorable one.
He sure did set the example.  His table setting was worth well over $300,000.00!  What church member could ever emulate that!  His food costs, including wine for a table of 8 guests, was over $1,500.00.  So much for the night that symbolizes the quick exodus of the Israelites out of Egypt!  As if any of them would be eating prime rib and drinking Rothschild wines.
This is a night for fine foods. Our meals should be balanced and not contain a lot of rich foods. Too many rich foods can make people ill and sluggish. Remember that the next day there will be double services. We need to be sure we are alert for the spiritual food to come at services.
Drinking on the Night to be Much Observed should be done with great care. Alcohol can either add or detract from our fellowship. God intended for man to develop alcoholic beverages for our benefit. “And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart” (Psalm 104:15). Using alcohol in moderation will help make us merry on this night. A host should never force alcohol on anyone. But in the same vein, a host should never allow someone to over drink.
Its always interesting to see COG ministers lay down the law for alcohol consumption for the membership, when so many of them are alcoholics.

Leap ends with this:
God planned the sacrifice of His own Son so we could share eternal life with Him; He provided for us a great Passover. He also provided a second night for us to truly celebrate that Passover. Because of what God did for us, we owe it to Him to celebrate the Night to be Much Observed. So let us all do everything we can to make this year’s Night to be Much Observed the best celebration ever!
Thats one big cosmic joke played on humankind, to be created as GOOD though not good enough.  Deliberately created to be vile sinners so that God can kill himself.  Thats the logic that comes across.

Well, I know that we have a number of people from the ACOGs now who particpate here, so would like to take this opportunity to wish them all a very happy Passover this evening! What could be a more joyous thing to know than that one's sins, past, present, and future have been forgiven and paid for!

I, while a member of the WCG heard a lot of horrible "stuff" about what happens to people who forsake "Gods truth" and leave his church. One of the things I heard was that those that leave forget the meaning of the holy days. That is hog wash. I still remember the supposed meaning of Gods plan for salvation that the holy days symbolize even though for over 20 years I have rejected that as nonsense.

We all heard ministers scare us by saying nonsense like, "I will hand them over to a reprobate mind" another way of saying that is "they will go insane". This has not happened to me. In fact I have a "more" rational outlook on life. Yes I have scars from the abuse but I am more sane since I left the WCG not less.

Also, we have all heard "stuff" like "if you leave Gods church he will withdraw his blessings and you will become destitute" again this has not happened to me. In fact since I left and stopped tithing I am making more then twice the income I did as a member. It seems that God has blessed me for leaving the WCG not cursed me.

Despicable lies where/are used to keep people enslaved in this fake religion!

NTBMO is the Passover. The ritual they hold the night before is a celebration of the 'Last Supper' not the Passover, and it's a day late. BTW what is 'artos' as found in "Mat 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took.bread (Strong's G740), and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body."

"Keeping the Passover alone is not enough! We must observe this second, different night, to properly keep the Days of Unleavened Bread!"

How does this shmuck "know" that it's not enough? What makes him so sure? He doesn't. He's just pulling this out of his axe hole.

Nothing is ever enough. There is always another shmuck who can find some other empty, vacuous ritual that you "must" observe, without which, the deity will not be sufficient appeased. Literally, there is no end to it.

This is the bad idea, mindset, "rationale," attitude, mistake, or whatever you wanna call it that starts people down the entire, ugly, legalist, bigoted, fundamentalist rabbit hole that ends in burning other people at the stake if you can get away with it. Right now, in christianity at least, you can't, but there was a time when that was a thing, and since the bible hasn't changed since then, there's no reason why the same rationale that was used in the past can't be used again. It's just a matter of opportunity.

And everyone thinking this way winds up being a self-righteous git. Everyone who does less than you is lazy, liberal, or "isn't honoring god," while everyone who does more than you is "self-righteous." Only YOU are the one who has drawn the line in the sand of how much is enough in EXACTLY the right place. A prime bit of biased, relativism. No, the one who is self-righteous is YOU. And then these same fundy pricks will turn around and cast aspersion on anyone who says maybe there isn't any such thing as "absolute truth." Puke.

And the kicker is, the odds that the specific god these folkwits are trying to bribe with their rituals even exists is probably worse than the odds of winning the lotto jackpot.

Now after talking with Paul Woods, Pastor of the Seventh Day Church of God in Caldwell, Idaho and researching it for myself, it is apparent that the Armstrongists just don't know how to read. They do not know the meaning of the word 'until'. They are careless with Exodus and don't have any discernment. It isn't their fault, of course, that they have a room temperature I.Q. and are so stupid they listened to a con cult leader who never finished high school -- who stole all his supposed knowledge he was taught 'personally by Christ' in the person of G. G. Rupert.

If you Armstrongists had the wit and intelligent to read the Scriptures properly and not let a heinous evil narcissist filter your perception for you, you would realize that the Lord's Supper was on the evening of the 13th, the Passover -- beginning the Days of Unleavened Bread was on the 14th and the Night to be Much Observed was on the 15th -- after the first holyday. See, Herbert Armstrong and his hirelings couldn't figure it out and had the Jews keeping the Passover on two days to explain away the simple Scriptures anyone who is not in the Cult of Herbert Armstrong Mafia could understand if only they didn't worship their idol, Herbert Armstrong.

There is no latitude for discussion. Anyone with any other explanation is wrong.

It is hoped you can admit you are wrong so we don't have to have discussion again.

And anyway, the PCG and most of the other ACoGs are late this year, so their attempt to worship on a non holy day is futile.

If you're late, you're late, and there's nothing more to do than admit you are wrong and apologize for the egregious error. You should have been doing this in March.

Major fail! Major fail!

Morons.

4:05 PM is right.

Back when I believed in Armstrongism I read that those who left "forgot" the meaning of these festivals. Of course that is complete nonsense. Just an induced phobia to keep us inside.

Believing the Passover was at the end of Nisan 14, in the evening, the Lord's supper must have been during the evening of the 12th, the night He ate leavened bread ie. "ARTOS" during a "supper" with His disciples. He was condemned by Pilate at noon the following day; spent the night of the 13th as a prisoner of the Romans, was crucified at 9AM on the 14th and died at around 3PM in that afternoon, at the same time the Passover lambs were being slaughtered. He was OUR Passover Lamb.
QED.

The reason for the season.
FWIW, some recent 'study notes'.

"Exo 12:22 .... and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning."

But, Moses and Aaron did:
"Exo 12:31 And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said. "

Let's face it, if you were in this situation would you say NO, we will not go. We are supposed to stay indoors until the morning. Get real! The moment for which you have been waiting, praying for, has come. Besides, you would be already dressed for a quick exit with your staff in hand. "Exo_12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S passover."

"eat it in haste...." for you don't know when your marching orders will come.

The people who vociferously say that others have the "wrong date" versus "Armstrong's correct date" give a clue to the fact that they are still infatuated with Herbie, and hoping that "in the Kingdom" when all are sexless, Herbert W Armstrong will ask them to be his date for the first "Kingdom Formal Dance"

On a side note, Jeremiah Jaques, the PCG darling is all "a flutter" on Twitter because the "Evil Satanist" J.K. Rowling retweeted one of his tweets! Guess she ain't such an evil person after all!
Jeremiah is the PCG HIPSTER and makes the churches image look cool, he plays a guitar and speaks soft and slow. He's screwed almost every college girl and parents were getting upset. Soooo, to fix that little problem fast, the church got him married and gave him a radio show on Thursday mornings, "The sun also rises".
No favoritism here, move along, nothing to see!
