UCG: Because we are such great communicators, we need to take advantage of a captive audience with people homebound because of COVID-19

Those fun boys in Cincinnati are excited to get their message out to all of the people of the world who are homebound and stressed out because of the COVID-19 pandemic. After all, the more stressed people are the more receptive they are to UCG preachers. WUT?

President’s Report—Victor Kubik
President Victor Kubik greeted everyone and answered submitted questions from Council members through this section of the meetings. President Kubik commented on the coronavirus health issues and also the concern for the economy. We need to be aware of this and prepare for possible consequences as a Church.
How is the United Church of God (UCG) reacting to the coronavirus crisis? The safety of our brethren has been our number one priority and we are striving to keep our members from danger.

Here are some of the questions submitted to President Kubik:
What has the administration seen during the coronavirus that the UCG should give more attention to?
Answer: We have done well canceling services when we did. We had a meeting with pastors and are staying in tune with government officials in regards to reopening.
What is the UCG doing well during this coronavirus?
Answer: We are doing well in communication.
What can the UCG do better?
Answer: We can have better contact with the community.
What are some opportunities during this time?
Answer: We can preach the gospel in a more stressed environment which is usually more effective. We need to preach all aspects of the gospel message that are seen in Acts:3:19-26.

We cannot have a studio audience for the Beyond Today episodes at this point, so it may be a good time to look at a different format to point to God’s truth. We shouldn’t waste this opportunity. We know God is leading His Church.
We need to look at ways to cut finances when and where possible for best case and worse case scenarios.
President Kubik concluded by mentioning that the home office continues to function effectively during this time even though only a few were there in person.

The UCG should just leave people alone.

Nobody needs the UCG stalking them.

All the splinters have taking advantage of captive audiences down to an art form. Once you join, you are mentally chained and turned into a Borg drone.

What canned questions! Here's a question for you Victor. Jelly contracts Chinese Corona Virus. Can you have your god heal him in front of "all" those viewers who are just sitting around chomping at the bit waiting for the UCG presenter to come on the air? It may draw in scores of tithe-payers who are just longing to live under the old covenant, believe a false gospel, and live under the hierarchical form of catholic church government that you and your "ordained ministers" and Sanhedrin want to sell them. It's worth a shot. Nothing else seems to work.

"We need to preach all aspects of the gospel"

Including Anglo-Israelism [Can't exclude this from the Armstrong-gospel]

Wrong questions to ask !!!

UCG are not alone in Church of God land in assuming God is happy and on their side. Approving everything. Smiling down on them from afar. Letting them do whatever is right in their own eyes.

Has this assumption by religious leaders ever happened before ?

Never in the history of the world has so many established religious leaders been so sure that God is so approving of them.

Could this be a terrible mistake.
A terrible sign.

The whole COG movement in its current form has little chance of surviving. The post-COVID world will be relatively COG-free.
The alternative is the COGleaders shelve their egos and Armstrongist fringe doctrines and hope for a grassroots revival. The odds of that happening are too small to estimate.

Stated: -"We can have better contact with the community"

Q: Im confused! Didn't you cancel services so that people can have LESS CONTACT with the community??

Two-faced paycheck-chasers like Victor Kubik are forever scheming and plotting to entrap the unwary.

No Tonto UCG cancelled in person services to save lives both in UCG and save lives in the community. I would say the wider community would approve.

Hm...Victor, Like I said. Remember the business signs I predicted? Where will you get the money in a pandemic. Cog 7th day and the rotary might not be as inclined....a little different from the days of worldwide isn't it? And you still collect a salary comparable to my state's governor

How about some cardboard cutouts for the audience and canned cheers like they have at the ball park!

UCG "did well in cancelling services"? How? By keeping the virus away? By serving the community better? By pleasing Christ who commanded that we assemble on the Sabbath to worship God unless there is a viral breakout? (Lev 23)? Did Moses and Aaron cancel ""assembling" or practice quarantining when the virus broke out in their day? (Num 16:46)
