Milk produced by non-Jews without Jewish supervision was forbidden by the sages of the Talmud due to a concern that it may be adulterated with milk from a non-kosher animal.
So what's a poor legalist supposed to do? This Rabbi had this to say:In an update sent by the rabbinate on Sunday, the kashrut department said that because Häagen-Dazs is made with unsupervised liquid milk, as opposed to milk powder, the marketing and sale of the ice cream in establishments and outlets with kashrut certification is not acceptable and constitutes “a severe infringement of kashrut procedures.”
“We request from those providing kashrut certificates not to permit the sale of this product in places with [kashrut] supervision,” the notice read. “One should not take into account the opinion of kashrut advisers in this matter who request to continue selling this product, and if the management of any chain insists on selling them it is possible that ‘kashrut [license] withdrawal’ may be enacted against them, according to the law.”
Asked what Häagen-Dazs lovers should do instead, he replied, “Love God more than ice-cream.”

This website’s purpose is to highlight the unparalleled growth and fruits of The Restored Church of God (RCG), and to counter many years of falsehoods and misinformation regarding the Church and its leader. Longtime Minister Comes with RCG: We are pleased to announce that a senior minister in God’s Church, Mr. Dale Schurter, has resigned from the United Church of God (UCG) and, with his wife, Mona, come with The Restored Church of God (RCG). Mr. Schurter was first ordained in 1965 after graduating from Ambassador College in Pasadena. He served for 19 years on the faculty at Ambassador’s Big Sandy campus, and has pastored members in Texas, Louisiana, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania.
All brethren in the splinters, regardless of affiliation, will want to visit the website often, where he and other ministers formerly in splinter groups will make exciting announcements and take you inside RCG, but also counter the years of misinformation, spin and disinformation about RCG and its leaders. He will regularly post many kinds of information, and answers to questions sent by readers.
In the early years, Mona and I had the honor to know Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Armstrong personally, and over the years spent many hours with them….especially with Mr. Armstrong, on numerous occasions. We learned much directly from him one-on-one about the way of God and His purpose for all of us, in addition to the many ways we all learned from God and Jesus Christ through him --- directly or indirectly. This brings responsibility, hence the length of this letter.
Now in the very last years of this age I am both burdened and moved to share a message of hope, vision and serious concern for our spiritual wellbeing --- and a way out of spiritual confusion in which the churches of God find themselves. God and Christ provide the way out, and it includes “anointing our eyes” with the oil of the Holy Spirit and “anointing our ears” with the Word of God. Everyone can read Revelation 3:17-18 --- “anoint your eyes with eye salve” --- but many fruits and teachings in the churches indicate it is not understood as it applies to each person individually.
My message is straight and to the point, and shared in sincere love for each of you.
Mona and I now know that the Truth which was lost during the buildup and final volcanic eruption of the apostasy in the late 1980s and early 1990s, following the death of Mr. Armstrong, has definitely been found and restored to God’s Church….including the all-important Government of God headed by Jesus Christ.-----The work and work atmosphere we witnessed was also seen in a four-day follow-up visit that included a great many hours of interaction with Mr. and Mrs. Pack, department heads and staff. Both visits reflected the same spirit of unity and zeal we saw during the exciting growth years of the Worldwide Church of God when it was fully “on track” under the leadership of Jesus Christ through Mr. Armstrong and his support team. (Translation: While I was still on UCG's payroll I was conspiring on how I could leave and jump straight into another paid job while bringing UCG members along with me.)------Think about this. When the conference of “elders-of-like-mind” convened in Indianapolis in 1995 and established the United Church of God, some among the leaders present openly commented that a government based on casting lots (balloting, voting) was, at best, a poor second choice compared to the Government of God restored by Christ in the Philadelphian Era through Mr. Armstrong. The idea was to keep our eyes open --- to watch for fruits of a work that might emerge in or from one of the “Church of God” organizations. It would reflect the Government of God at work, and have fruits similar to the WCG when it was on track and being so obviously blessed by God. THIS would be the signal for all the groups to reunite as one!
To my knowledge no committee was ever formed --- and assigned --- to be a “watchman” to look for this organization. Mona and I, as a self-appointed committee of two, have been keeping our eyes open, being frustrated with the fruits of division all around.
When we were led to the Restored Church of God, and did due diligence in our research, we confirmed to our satisfaction that the works and fruits of this organization were of God. Christ is the Head of this Church. We saw Christ at work through one He had called and appointed to finish the work --- to fulfill the prophecy of Revelation 10:11, which we should all know, “You must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.” This prophecy was on Mr. Armstrong’s mind, especially in his latter years.--------The Restored Church of God is truly about our Father’s business. I am thankful to be a part of this very end time work --- and I urge you to take a very serious look. Investigate it as we have. I heartily recommend as a starting point Mr. Pack’s book “Anoint Your Eyes” – Christ’s Warning to His People.
I must caution that you will probably experience a “blizzard” of lies and deception about Mr. Pack. Do not let this deter you. I have prepared myself for some of the same treatment. You all know me, and I have known Mr. Pack for almost 30 years. Think of how Mr. Armstrong was and still is being slandered and attacked. It could not be different with Mr. Pack --- and maybe with me! (Translation: Brethren! Mr. Dave Pack is NOT an egotistical liar. Mr. Pack is NOT a narcissistic cult leader! Mr. Pack is NOT lording it over his membership to fund his new college that will employ ME and probably my wife. Those are all demonic attacks by Satan to destroy the ONLY TRUE CHURCH! But beware, they will also be coming after me for leaving the apostate and corrupt United Church of God which is NOT under God's government. Brethren, I could go on and on about the magnificence of this end time work of Mr. Pack but will let my letter suffice. I am here today to work with you UCG brethren that are disappointed in your church to come over and join up with us, the ONLY TRUE CHURCH ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH TODAY!)To our surprise, we also found that over the years several hundred UCG brethren, with many brethren from all the other major splinter groups, have already anointed their eyes and gone to the Restored Church of God to support the only true Work of God. They, as we, have found where all that we had in the past has been restored and is again available….including the same Government and the same gospel of the Kingdom of God. (Translation: We will be working diligently to bring many more of you UCG members into our TRUE Church!)Mona and I remain available to serve you and all others, spiritually or physically, just as we have continued to serve others around the world over the years. However, from now on I will be a minister of the Restored Church of God, serving in the New York City area. I will also be serving as a “pastor at large”, freely communicating with anyone in UCG or individuals in other groups who wish to contact me.

In beginning to go through, one by one, the many incoming emails, phone calls and voicemails thus far, it is quite encouraging to receive so many….so quickly. My letter has reached people in some 645 cities in 33 countries at this point. Yesterday Mona and I hosted an Open Forum all afternoon and were able to answer a large number of questions, personally….questions (and answers) which may be posted later. I was especially encouraged by one attendee who said, “I’m so glad to hear what you’ve been saying. I’m so in need of more strength and spiritual truth.” Brethren, that strength and truth can be found only in the Holy Bible, The Scriptures, and is taught in its fullness in The Restored Church of God, yes, as taught by Jesus Christ and the Apostles.
My wife and I made an important decision, and are very thankful for the exciting calling and opportunity to now be enabled to assist RCG and its Pastor General, Mr. Pack, in reaching out to people around the world who face that same choice where this is being accomplished. We must come to understand all that it means to be in the very last years of the very last era of the Church. It is soon going to come to an end, and it is time for all of us to wake up to that reality. God’s work needs to be done, and my goal is to help brethren understand the reality of the stark choices every person in the 7th era faces…to wake up now, before the Tribulation strikes….and not wait until it is upon them. I pray all of God’s people will begin to investigate the truth now, before it is too late….and find themselves in a much worse situation.
The newest United News reports that in the COE session in December Victor Kubik, Dir. of Ministerial Services gave an attendance figure of 7,621. This figure is for the US only. When UCG first started it had about 25,000 attendees. Now after major splits (Hulme, Big Sandy and Associated Churches & COGWA) they are down to <9,000 or about 30% of where they started with. FACT: Based on polls, over 60% of the population believes that there is likely alien life in outer space. Around 48% of the population believes that aliens from outer space may be visiting the Earth in UFOs, and 12% claim to have seen a UFO.
FACT: A 1991 Roper poll estimated that 4 million people in the US may have had an "alien abduction" experience (2% of the population). This does not even take into account the number of abductees worldwide, which based on the Roper poll, could be estimated to be 129 million people. This is a number of pandemic proportions.
Christian research in this field has shown that these are spiritually dangerous false beliefs, which can open a spiritual door to the occult, resulting in having dark paranormal experiences.

Anti Christian Blockbuster Movies Coming Soon!
Coming soon to a theater near you! My prediction is that the “anti-Christ” power will soon come out with movies that will make Christians out to be “cult members”. This will be a 'sign of the times'. You must understand, media is the main weapon of fallen apostate Christendom and the anti-Christ power. Through movies and false media this evil power will make anybody who believes in God to be seen as crazy, strange, weird, violent, deranged, etc. How else can Satan attack the masses save through computers and television?
All news programs today have Satanic forces working in them. You will never hear the TRUE GOSPEL preached or promoted on any of these programs. My prediction is that television and media will be used, including up and coming movies, to break down Christians in a powerful way. We must realize that almost all people in the United States watch TV and listen to or watch media and movies. The true Church of God will be promoted as a cult or strange fringe Christian movements. There are many movies which have tried this approach before but not like the deception which is coming.
“Hollow Wood” [or Hollywood] will be involved along with rich actors and actresses that will be trying to promote the New Age ["god" of Science] movement. They are preaching Satan's gospel. They will come in full force! True Christians who are in the true Church of God will stand fast even if it means death. These evil forces have already tried indirectly to attack the true gospel through their insistent urge to promote UFO's and extraterrestrials. When they find that this has not worked they will result to producing movies that make all Christians look crazy and out of touch with reality.

It's purpose is to assist all those who are struggling to "break free" from addictions, unhealthy habits, destructive behaviors and scars from the past. It is also for family members and other loved ones who are seeking to understand and help those who struggle with personal problems.
Articles cover a wide range of topics including addictions of all kinds, substance abuse, eating disorders, personal abuse (physical, verbal, sexual, emotional), sexual sins, homosexuality, other dysfunctional behaviors and mental disorders.
The latest is that the earth is now in a "biblical half time" that begins today, January 8, 2012. According to his blog,
January 7, 2012, is another important occurrence for the timing of God’s work and end-time events. This date is an important crossroad in time as it ends a prophetically historic portion of time in Daniel that consists of a prophetic measure of “time” and “times” that began after Trumpets of 2009. January 8 of this year begins the final “half-a-time” of this full prophetic period known as “time, times, and half-a-time.” That day is the start of the final period of 140 days (half-a-time) that leads up to the very coming of the Messiah spoken of in those same prophecies of Daniel.

In order to do this they now want members to send in more money. Rhodes and Luker asked these questions:There is a real need for a larger production area for our media department—particularly for our Web team and video and television production area—including a larger video recording facility. If you have visited Cincinnati and seen our very small recording studio, you will understand how cramped it is and how it affects the overall productivity of our media team. To be more effective, productive and efficient, we need to expand these areas.
A larger, better-equipped, multi-purposed media center would allow us to take advantage of the rapidly changing developments in Internet and broadcast media. A new recording area with multiple sets is envisioned. Included in the proposal is more of a "sound stage" area that could be adapted to handle all kinds of recording needs, temporary sets and future opportunities. The new media center would be one of the largest single areas at the office—reflecting our desire to preach the gospel even more effectively.
We want and need your advice and input. Please let us know by the end of January on the below website comment form how you feel about these plans. In addition, we would appreciate your feedback on funding this possible expansion and on the following questions:
· Would your congregation support this expansion proposal?
· Could your congregation donate monies from local accounts to help?
· What are your thoughts on establishing a dedicated building fund?
· How acceptable would it be to finance a portion of this proposal?
After years of discord, United is now growing in the unity and stature of Jesus Christ (Ephesians:4:13) and we must preserve this. We are now at a point where we can preach the gospel by leveraging all the tools in our hands without hindrance. But before we consider expanding our media production facilities, we must know the thoughts of the ministry and members.
Expanding the home office at this time would fill important needs for the future. Equally as important, the proposal presented by the administration to the Council of Elders in December ensures that space requirements for the next decade and the foreseeable future would be provided "under one roof" without any need to relocate.
Apart from the media area, the proposal envisages remodeling the Ambassador Bible Center so that our ability to impart in-depth biblical truth to ABC participants is enhanced. An increase in the ABC area would also enable the simultaneous training of the next generation of ministers, instead of at separate times during the year, as happens now.
Remodeling the Ambassador Bible Center would provide the opportunity to have a larger auditorium to serve the purposes of the present auditorium, and also allow taping of Beyond Today specials. It could even be a home-office-based Feast of Tabernacles site if needed in the future.
Considering the many uses the building expansion would allow, the cost is not expected to be excessive. It is not a new building or relocation; it is an expansion of the current building in the same location. It would lay a foundation to meet the growth we hope for in the foreseeable future. Rough cost estimates are in the range from $2,000,000 to $2,500,000. More detailed work is being done to secure a more accurate construction bid for us. We would hope to pay cash for the bulk of the construction and finance as little as possible.
To help everyone understand what is being proposed, we have created this page. It includes initial space plans and diagrams, a link to the video of the administrations report to the Council in December about this, and a box for you and our members to give their comments and feedback. In order to properly understand the space plan diagram, it will be important to view them in conjunction with the video explanation from the Council meeting
CoE SALARIES
UCG elders receive a minimum salary based on years of service, then then get additional amounts for other added responsibilities such as Camp Coordinators, Feast Coordinators etc.
Regional Pastors get more, as do administrative officials [president, treasurer etc] and members of the CoE and the Chairman; who is the real head of UCG [the president being merely and administrative assistant to the CoE].
CoE salaries are in the $120,000 range although this is just the base minimum salary and other possibilities for income are available to them. Added to this income is a generous expense account.
110,000 plus per year plus a 9% bonus and a generous expense account with tax deductible housing and utilities makes for a VERY good life for men called to SET AN EXAMPLE FOR THE FLOCK.
And then they beg the brethren to sacrifice! Remember the words of Jesus Christ: Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
These men should be tithing fully and sacrificing and doing whatever they ask the flock to do.
How many of you get to deduct housing and utilities from your taxable income? Factor that into the remuneration mix.
